RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!
I started my Rally Version of the TB01. I'm calling it TB01RA! LOL
I got the chassis built tonight. I need your help everyone.
Do you know the part number and where I can get the inside dirt cover. Anyone know this info?
Thank you in advance.

Check eBay or TamiyaUSA website... do a search on TB-01 or if you have the exact part #..
I have not seen the dust cover available... but I think the tub might still be available..
Good luck! Be sure to post some pics of your new-to-you TB-01!

Yeah. those dust covers are almost impossible to find..[:@] my most recent build is a TB01 as well.. picked it up on ebay but it was opened and the dust cover was gone, so also looking for one. i found one recently in UK but the proces was 40.00 before shipping![X(]
some pics of it..still have to paint the the Mitsubishi body, but i wanted to do an escort for the longest while as i used to own one of these ( the 4 door version)[8D]
gonna do a rally version of the escort someday as well..

$40 for a dust shield is such a rip off, ha! But it also depends on how badly you want it.. hee!
Can probably buy a NIB kit for like $200 (?) and that way you got a whole new kit and a dust shield.. only $160 more than the dust shield itself.. ha!!

Yea! My thoughts exactly! However, gonna have to do without a dust cover for now, as the Globe Liner should be showing up today and gonna need to make up funds for the MFC, Radio and Trailer [>:] ! Ha!

The part # for the TB-01 dust cover is 1835088. It was listed as in stock on the Tamiya USA site for $11.50 last night so I ordered 2 of them. Now the site has them listed as temporarily out of stock, but not discontinued. These may still be available. I'll let you guys know if the ones I ordered actually show up.

RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!
HI there Guys, I just picked up a TB-01 Rally on Ebay, as seen here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Tamiya-TAM58286-...item35adef0fea
I am super excited about building it. I actually own a '05 Evo VIII RS (the real thing) and will eventually paint the body to match my 'lil RS. Even though its an Evo 7 its still pretty close.
I am having a hard time finding the old hop-ups for this car however.
I have lots of plans for it, but for the time being I am wondering about building the diffs, what grease is everyone using in these metal gear rally diffs? I was planning on using the Tamiya anti wear grease. I think I read elsewhere about using the Cera-Grease when building the diffs and then topping it off with the Tamiya grease........
Here are the parts I want to get first, and if any of you guys have any of these laying around and want to make a buck or two please contact me.
53430 TB-01 and TG-10 Long Arm Suspension - VERY rare
53414 TB-01 Aluminum Suspension Mount
What Tamiya Shocks would you guys recommend? Ihave read the TRFshocks do not work with the rally setup. Iknow this is true. What are my other options? Ibasically want to use an aluminum shock body with the rally springs and reuse the shaft and internals etc that come with the Rally kit. Iam thinking the rally shocks are plastic bodied.
The rest of the hop ups are kinda available, I am sure as I come across more I will ask. While Iam at it, what is this for?- http://cgi.ebay.com/TAMIYA-OP-366-TG...item4a96caf3cf
The eventual plan is to completely do suspension, drivetrain (including wheels), body, then brushless power. I am going to use the HPI Flux kit from the Sprint 2 Flux cars. Along with a Futaba futk1200 radio, HPI SF-5 Servo, and Maxamps battery, at least a 4000mah Lipo.
What do you guys think?
I want to thank everyone who has posted in this thread, I have read through ALOT of it and gained alot of knowledge in the process.

RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!
Do you guys know if tb-02 arms and suspension will work with a tb-01 rally? I would rather go aluminum than buy the 53430 long arm kit. I have searched everywhere and cant find a reasonable answer to this question.
Thanks So Much,
Russell King

RE: Tamiya TB-01 Resource Thread!
I doubt that the tb-02 stuff will go on the tb-01. I have both and they are very different. Aluminum bits for the tb-01 are still available, but the long suspension arm kits are rare and very expensive. Look on asiatees, etamiya and rcmart. I believe all 3 have arms for the tb-01 in stock.
With regards to the dust covers, the 2 that I ordered from TamiyaUSA showed up on Friday. They are now listed as discontinued though, so I must have gotten the last 2.
