I want to wait to get the shell finished before I run though!! At least, you know there will be some snow rally shots!!

It is probably over-geared a little bit.. But it is also only the 5700kv motor, so it should be able to handle it fine.. (not a 7700kv setup!) If it heats up a little bit, no big deal.. it is a BL setup.. no brush to burn off, etc. That's why I like brushless... !!

Lunchboxer? Now pay attention...
One day, you will realize that your TB01 needs UNIVERSAL DRIVESHAFTS. (I did that the first month or so. Both FRONT and REAR.)
Now when we look at the DIFF-OUTDRIVES, the DOGBONES and the WHEEL AXLE, we notice that they are the same components as used in other Tamiya chassies. TL01 for instance.
This leads us to the conclution that we can use 53418 TL01 universals.
Ho hum! A lot of universals will fit (sort of) both aftermarked thingies and Tamiyas own 53115 and 53418, but for the TB01, Tamiya made them a LITTLE shorter!
This keeps them from bottoming out in the outdrives when the suspension travels fully up.
Especially if you're using a ball diff (wider) and a little negative camber in the rear! (pushes the dogbone/universalshaft further INTO the diff-outdrive)
Another useful side effect of buying the 53409 TB01/TG10 UNIVERSAL DRIVESHAFTS is the ALU-HEXES! They're attached to the shaft by SPLINES. Not by a 2x10mm crosspin inserted into a 2mm hole drilled in the shaft. I've seen shafts break where that hole is...
CONCLUTION? THERE'S YOUR ALU HEXES! (I wonder how much unbalance that little set-screw on the other ones causes...)
You may do as you please but my advice is to get two sets of 53409. Not instantly, but in due time:-)
Oh one more thing! The O-rings! I never use the black 3mm O-rings which are supposed to go into the diff-outdrives.
(instead I slide them over the body-posts to take up slack, keeps the body more stable)
Instead of O-rings I use that little red URETHANE BUSHING found in TRF-damper-kits.
Also available sans dampers in a 10-pack, 53577. Just remember to CUT THEM IN HALF, they're too large.
Cheers.
And for the record: The universals in these pics ARE 53409. The car however is NOT a TB01.

I think I am gonna keep the dogbones for now.. not gonna be bothered with the universal drive at the moment.. so the 6mm aluminum hex will stay!!
I have CVDs in my TB-02.. maybe I will see how much difference in legnth it is.. to see if they can be used on the TB-01.. maybe when I am bored..
Right now, I just need to finish up the shell and do some drifting on dirt.. ha ha!!

Lunchboxer? I'll tell you all about the modding and honing of my chassis with pics and all, but right now (and last night too) the rcuniverse.com server or something has gone completely gaga. Can't post pics, can't preview message, can hardly access site. Let alone post images. No way.

This is what I need.. as I feel there's a bit of slop in the steering system.. [:'(]
Too expensive, though.. I wish rcMart has it in stock... [:@]
I will wait for now....

Take it easy man, do one thing at a time. I'll be getting to that steering later, and explain in detail HOW to asemble it and WHAT PARTS to use. Not like the manual says...

the only problem with using o-rings to keep the body more stable, is that they snap when your trying to get them on, or perish after a short while, i prefer to use them adhesive foam mounting pads.

make sure you apply them after you have painted the body though, otherwise it can look a little silly!
remember, one thing at a time!
