Of course, there's always the TRF shocks if you feel the stock setup isn't good enough!

I used CA glue and glue a piece of antenna tube on the chassis center support / divider. This is to run the 2.4GHz RX's short antenna...

Center top deck / bridge installed.. TB-01 is pretty much done..

Note the rear upright has built-in toe-in. Be sure to install them on the correct side.. or you might end up w/ toe-out on the back.....

Dust shield ready to go!

Velcro is used to attached to the chassis. Also note the sponge to further cut down the possibility of sand and dirt getting into the chassis! [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

What it looks like w/ the dust shield installed onto the chassis!!

Tomorrow, I will need to Dremel the chassis a little bit so the 5,000mAh hard case LiPo will fit.... (should be pretty easy, just some ribs on the bottom of the chassis..)

i was like, why has he used velcro instead of the body mounts... not used to seeing this setup..! [&:]

why did you glue the aerial onto the chassis, i thought your system had a module (so no need for an aerial?)

2.4GHz still has an antenna wire.. just that it is very short... so you still need to route it somehow.. and with the drive shaft in the middle, you don't want the two to come together....

TB01 MY FAVOURITE CAR!

Hi guys! I got mine years ago. My first 1:10 scale rc-car. Mind you,I had been racing 1:24 Tamtechs back in the late eighties, and when the mini-z boom came in the early 2000's I jumped on that bandwagon too. MAN, these tiny cars are hard to drive!
So when I finally entered the 1:10 scale world, I found these larger cars to be amasingly EASY to drive.

Enter the Tamiya TB01. The photo on the box says 58281 Ford Focus but I swapped the body for one from a TG10 kit. The most successfull rally car of all times, the LANCIA INTEGRALE. NOW I was ready to rally!!!

In my "gang" I was the last one to get a rallycar, six of the others were already rallying TL01's and there were the odd TA01's too.
Just like real rallies, we met and raced eachother on various places with different conditions. We rallied on tarmac (parklots), concrete (freight-terminals & an indoor gocart track), gravel (soccer-tracks & playgrounds & a BMX-track), linoleum (indoor gym), snow, ice (!) (a frozen lake). Come rain or shine, we were out rallying at least twice a week

During this time I constantly tuned and adjusted my TB01. Countless setups were tried for the varying conditions (not to mention HOURS of maintenance after a spin in the wet dirt) and it slowly emerged from being the underdog to dominating our rallies.
Today I have 18 cars but I must say the TB01 is my favorite!

Oh and Lunchboxer? You cant use your "LB standard issue Tamiya 6mm aluminum clamp type hex" on the TB01 !!! ;-D
Cheers, Karl.

lee172 we'll have to get back to pics of cars, as I actually haven't gotten around to photograf all of them yet. Some, but not all. And no, they're not TB01's. They're all different species.
Two Tamtech's (still in perfect condition. Hey, even the batteries from '89 are still alive!).
Then there's the four Kyosho mini-Z's. All different types. The "Monster" pick-up, an "Overland" Gelendewagen, an "F1" McLaren and last but not least: an "AWD-chassis" with a LANCIA INTEGRALE body on top of it :-)

Now for the larger cars I have to say that the Skoda isn't mine. It belongs to my son. He built the chassis (TL01) himself but since it was his first car and he was only twelve, I did the cut-paint-&-decal job. Blimey, that Carson body was NEARLY as good as a Tamiya body!

So what's left? Let's see, an M03 Mini Cooper, M03R chassis NIB (that means Not Iet Built, haha), FF02SLA Toyota Corolla (VERY fast on the racetrack) TA03RS Lancia 037, TB-evolution Alfa 155, two TG10's a CC01 Tuareg and a Wild Dagger. Phew!

Then there's the TL01S. A little project I came up with the other day. A 237mm wheel base TL01 :-)

Ah uh, nearly missed the Alpina A110 on a Rear Wheel Drive M03 chassis. A lot of fun bringing that one to the racetrack. With a Dynatech double-13 turn motor and HPI belted tyres I managed to keep the blue-aluminium-carbon-double-deck-4wd-elite-cars-with-soap-bar-shaped-bodies BEHIND me for six laps before I spun off coming out of a tight corner. MAN I was having a laugh!

Lunchboxer? I'll get back to you later, gotta catch some shuteye now.
And YES I did some mods. I've been tweaking it for years!
But seriously, you cannot use those clamp-on alu-hexes on a TB. I'll tell you why later.

Cheers!

Dremel an opening on the battery holder so the LiPo wires can exit easily...

Due to thickness of the hardcase LiPo, I had to drill another hole (a little bit higher than the normal setup) for the pin to go through..

how about over 10 minutes runs...no heat problems under the dust shield?...I think the hop-ups light gears are a must for a powerful motor like this one you used on...
