Have to say its one sexy buggy only downside is the over sized front bumper
I love yours too (buggy that is lol)
I think the black still looks so fresh and the gold just highlights the black and makes it stand out even more

i think they should re-release the GA with today's technology i think it would be up there with the great buggies of today if not pounding them into the ground

And better suspension, that is my biggest gripe about the car.

Right here goes the mods are......
Tamiya esc
Old acoms servo
Hobby king 2.4 radio gear
That's it everything else is stock
Only reason I changed the radio and the board was because it had lost drive

Cool, you should install a Speed Gem Pro 19T motor on it. It will make a world of difference

I had one because I couldn't afford a Tamaiya Hornet. It ended up lasting longer then my buddy's Hornet....

I personally don't believe that the Hornet would survive much when you put in a brushless motors and run a lipo on it. Honestly the Nikko rear transaxle is way better that the one that came with the Grasshopper and Hornet. Just my opinion.

I can't comment on that as not had the hornet or grass hopper (yet lol) I used to go to a local track in the 80's and they always used to run grass hoppers and frogs and I always used to look on and wished I could of had one but never did the only downside is could see with the grass hopper is its a 380 motor and not a 540

All this talking about the GA is making me think about the 80's I wish I could go back there long hot summers (something of a rarity in England) hanging out with friends they were the best times ever

Hoping someone can help me here. I brought out of retirement my old Golden Buggy!! I can't believe I still have this thing after 30 years. It runs, but the tires are in pretty poor shape due to age and flat spots due to sitting for so long. I want to do some upgrades to this to get it running good, and quick again. Can anyone give me links to replacement tires for it, and whatever else you would recommend that I can install without too much trouble on this model? I ordered a replacement battery since the original one is toast. Here is a picture of it, with my old truck one behind it which I have yet to find replacement tires for. lol.

Hi nizmoz welcome to the forum
The GA tires are the same as the tamiya hornet ones as are the bearings the gearbox can be swapped with a tamiya lunchbox (although it has been said on here the GA gearbox is the better one)
Then it all depends what other mods you want to do you could remove the board inside and add a esc, 2.4ghz radio gear and replace the servo then there's the motor
So replace motor, electrics if you replace the electrics you will need less batteries, radio gear, bearings
That will reduce the weight of the car and will make it faster(were not talking mega speed but still a bit more than standard)

This set is pretty cheap and direct replacement.

Thanks for the response. I just got my replacement battery, and it seems the car is dead. No response at all. Remote turns on, battery shows 7.2v on my meter, all connections are still connected, but nothing at all. Anyone have any recommendations on what to do? Wanted to go out with some buddies and show it off some. haha.

What electronics do you recommend I put in this since it seems they are dead. The motor maybe still okay, but I am thinking the board is shot or maybe the remote obviously. Links to parts? I am new to the RC building area, but not new to electronics.
