so i hold down the trigger on the remote for the car to move......the engine sounds like its spinning, but the car doesnt move....i roll it back and forth, the drive shaft turns..so once again im lost...im thinking its the pinion...but i've driven the car for no longer than 10 mins since i put it together...

check if the pinch bolt on the pinion is loose or if the spur gear is n contact with the pinion. if the pinion is loose, u should see the motor shaft spinning but the pinion remaining stopped. tighten the pinch bolt (small allen key in the side of the pinion)

I had this happen when I started out, hell I was in the middle of a race and my motor screws backed out slightly and then my pinion and spur gear quit making contact and the car just rolled to a stop all slow and I couldnt figure out what happened because, like your chassis the motor was working but the gears wernt touching and I thought I broke it lol

thread lock on the grub screw will keep it from backing out, a little trick...you can also you a little nail polish on the threads as well if you don't have thread lock.

i can imagine going to a track and putting nail polish on the work bench
imagine the looks you get lol
unfortunately we dont have a drift track were i live so i cant try it
