ok by the name im assuming it wont let your car go backwards, like reverse or anything right?

because i notice sometimes when i drift and i over-turn, it will move backwards and make a loud sound...


will a one -way diff help?

It will still let you go backwards, but only the rear wheels will pull the car, the front still rolls, they just dont have power.

front oneway
forward = power to all 4 wheels
reverse = power to only the rear wheels.

It helps in drifting because when you hit the brakes/reverse the rear locks up and not the front letting the rear slide around better. It kind of works like the e-brake in a real rear wheel drive car.

so you are saying if you put the oneway in the front, when you go to reverse the rear tires only go? What happens if you put the oneway in the back?? [&:]

forward = only front tires pulling
reverse = all 4 turning

you could also put a oneway in front and a solid axle in the rear. I havent done it yet, but I could see it helping alot.

I dont think you can put a oneway in a tl-01.

you can lock the diff....similar to a one way

locking it is different than a one way.
locked = full power forward and reverse.
one way = power only in one direction.

I would say you got that the wrong way round, but I can't say I've ever seen a car successfully use a one way in the rear, it's something I thought might work years ago but it was garbage

maybe it depends on the car...In my TC3, if you look at the way that a oneway spins and which it it locks, then turn it around and do the same thing, you would realize that if you were to put it in backwards (as you would need to do for the rear). The rear tires would not get any traction, because the oneway can only lock in one direction. Now if you were to drive in reverse then all four tires would spin.

I DO have a oneway, in which the bearing was put in backwards (from the factory) so with this diff, it would work fine for the rear, but Id never put it in. Front only brakes dont soud too good to me.

Yeah, front only brakes is a recipe for disaster
