That is a really nice set up. I am in the works on lights for my car. I am in the process of getting a Lamborghini Mercielago body and putting in a light kit with working tail lights. For the light housing, I will be using aluminium tape for refletion and spacing of the lights. I an not going all out on the lights just something so I can have fun at night. I an just putting in head lights, fog light, and tail lights. I may even us the fog lights as euro side markers. Its going to take about a month to get everything hooked up, because waiting for parts to come in by mail. ie: body, leds, and other things to get it set up. Once I get everything set up I will have pics.
Good luck to the ones working on there light kits!

T-MAN, know how you plan to make those rear lights operational? I've been digging around a bit the past few days and haven't come up with anything concrete yet.

I will be using a pressure switch. So when I push the brake, on my radio, it moves the servo into the switch activating the lights. That is what I am going to try. When I get it set-up, I will make post to let you know if it works or not. It will be about a month be for I get it all set up.

Mechanical speed control or nitro car? Cause there are no moving parts in an electric system. This is where I was having my troubles...

Try this for the electrics:
ORIGINAL: Brian Dorff
also, for an electric car you should try pluging the esc into a y-harness and then into the Rx. then try pluging a micro servo into the other part if the y. the servo should operate with the throttle, and you can use microswitches to operate the brakelights on this servo. the servo could be mounted to the body, so the only thing you have to do is turn on the light and plug in the servo.

well I'm back in the states now, so it'll be a little harder to mod my car electronicallybecause the Rat Shak (radio Shack) bites. But on the other hand i found some nice opaque arrays in different colors I think I'll use for the tail lights instead of just the 12 LEDs. The arrays will look better because it will appear to be just a bar of light rather than the 3 points.
Oautmealman - thank you for the contructive criticism about the wing. I was just having fun, and I'm sorry it doesn't meet your high asthetic standards.
Creyc & T-MAN-iR - Nitro Cars are just that, they run on nitro so the have a carburator. A servo operates the carb and the breaks, so you can put a momentary switch on the break side so when you actuate the breaks it clicks the switch on too ie turning your lights on. To do this on an electric car ... so far the circut i think i'll need wil be an P-channel Mos-Fet connected to the motor leads for the Vgs (Gate to Source Voltage). The Vds (Drain Source Voltage) goes to my on off swith to my lighting. I think i need a P channel FET but i need to test my ESC outputs to the motor to be sure. Depending on how this circut turns out and if find a better ... less messy way to activate the headlights I might post pics and wiring schematics for those Electronically inclined. don't know yet so don't get your hopes up.
Hell$peed - What kind of pics do you want? I have no problem posting anything...well anything RC...well almost anything RC.
goodnight, it's time for me to sleep, and i'll check my ESC outputs tomorrow morning.
talk to yall later,

Yeah, thanks for the little nitro 101.
That's my primary RC vehicle type, I'm just getting into the electric RC car scene.
As for a possible release of your schematics, that would rock. I found a few things online, some for sale and others just showing how to do it but most seem like overkill and have extra features I don't need. I understand how you do it (I think) but I don't know exactly how to put it into a circuit. :\
