And if i get a stock TT-01 ppl have said i need to get a new ESC because it heats up too much... is this true ?
What is the role of the ESC...
How much should i be paying for a higher than average car...

ESC is what controls the speed of your car. If you hold the trigger on the remote lightly, it will go slow. If you jam it, it will go fast. And yes, stay with buying TT-01.

For the TT-01, the hop-ups that are highly suggested are the aluminum drive shaft and ball bearings.
Bearings make moving parts(such as the drive shaft, differnetial, and axels) move more smoothly.

if you order the ball bearing set and install upon assembly just replace the stock bearings with the ball bearings, its a very simple process. also a motor is a must the stock 540 just doesnt cut it...i first upgraded to a venom 21t and quickly realized this as well wasnt cutting it i recomend the reedy quad 18t by associated. any more questions on your tt-01 just ask.
