I agree. I have a NTC3 and a HPI RS4 3 Evo, and I havent had any overheating problems, or anything. Overheating has the weather factor to go with it also. Noise? Who cares, thats the best thing about it!

I own Electric and Nitro, I find Nitro more fun. Faster and lots or TQ. It all depends on what your set-up is.
Cool thing is, you can drift on Rubber tires. No abs crap. I drift with any hard compound tires, they last pretty long too.

Only Issue I deal with is Fuel costs, I pay 15 dollars for 30%. Other than that, [>:]

same here mates i drift with a rs4 3 12ss never had the motor overheat or killed a clutch and theres plenty or torque to get it sideways. im thinking of switching my engine to that OS four stroke onroad engine because thing of the torque a 4 stroke will provide[>:]

Nobody is hating on Nitros to my knowledge. I think the resounding tone is (at least in MY posts) is that if you are familiar with Nitro motors, then go with that because you'll get faster smokier drifts. However, most of the people asking about nitros are new to R/C or new to drifting or both. So, we refer them to the easier alternative. I know I've said at least 3 times, if you know what you're doing, go Nitro. But that would only include like 8 of you out of like 100 that have said "I'm new to r/c what do I need to drift?"

Yea i have a nitro stadium truck so i cant stick to just one side. But try drifting ur nitro indoors or in a closed area.
Not a very good idea. Nitro is fun il admit it but electric does seem to have that advantage. The point is to drift and have fun. So go, have fun drifting[8D]

Just wanted to put my two cents in here. I love drfting nitro. Yeah electrics are fun, especially the fact you can do it inside, but the sound of a nitro car is too cool. I got hooked up with Redcat Racing , and got 6 cars for me and my buddies. The Lightning VX makes a great drift car, and it is very affordable. We swapped out the tires after we burnt the stocks for some harder compound rubber and man what fun. The cars sweep throught the turns sideways, and are easy to pull out of a slide. For $170 bucks this car is the most bang for your buck for nitro drifting.

Who would be stupid Enough to run a nitro in a closed area? or indoors? Talk about a death trap. Every indoor track I've been to had nice ventalation.

Nitro;s are smelly, Dirty and cost more to run, this is the onlyy reason why we recommend Electric for drift..

Throttle control is better with an Electric then a nitro, I have Drifted Both and Gave up the RS4 EVO3 with a. 15 for a TT-01 and havent looked back since..
Nitro's also need alot more room to drift with and with the Size of the Average Drive way, The electric is a better Alternative..

Most indoor tracks Dont allow Nitro to run, Councils Wont let you Run a Nitro on the Net ball Courts as the Fuel can cause a Slip Hazard.. Yet they will allow you to drift an Electric..

Noise is Also a Reason, You cant hold night time drift sessions with Nitro's Without recieving a complaint from a neighbour... no one complains about the Noise from an Electric..

So these reasons are why Electric is preffered for drift , There is nothing Stopping you from drifting a nitro if you can live with the Cost..

So many things wrong with this...

*So your telling me Electrics dont get dirty? Last time I checked, Electrics run on the ground too.

*Smelly? You bet, I love the smell of Methane, cant get enough of it. If the smell bothers you, lean it out.

*Throttle control my ass, I have a RS4 3 Evo with a .18 OS. This thing shoots out of conners, Pure TQ engine. Dont believe me? Ask other OS .18 Cv-RX owners. This motor puts out. The HPI T-15 you had is a crap engine. You have to tuned and tweak till its right. I also love the sound of Shifting to 2nd gear, cant get that out of an electric.

*You gave up because you had no Idea on what you were doing. If you where smart, you would have invested in a more powerful engine, instead of going to that 100% plastic chassis you call a TT-01. (I could never find upgrades for this car locally, too damn unpopular here) weight, and Suspension mods have alot to do with the quickness of any type of car. (1:1 RC Etc..)

*Hell yea they need more room, 200mm wide? I think so. Who would drift something that fast in their driveway? Your just asking for broken parts.

*Who cares if most indoor tracks dont allow Nitro to run? Im never at the track often anyways. Pure Parking lot drifter. Noise? Who cares, There are alternatives on lowering the sound of exhasut noise. I live in the city, so noise doesnt really matter. Only if you live in apartments, or a real strick suberb.

Fact of the matter is, Electrics and Nitros have their ups and downs. I presonaly prefer nitro since all my buddies run D staged nitros. I respect electric cars, They just dont interest me in RC drifting. I like how the weight transfers are more realistic than electrics. I love the smoke, and I love peeling tires. Cant for get shifting to second. You can't get the pleasure of doing that with an electric. If you do, than your ESC is fired. LOL. I own a Pretty hopped up TT-01, and Muiltiple On Road Nitro. I started with the TT-01, then Got into nitro I admit.

In conclusion, Nitro or electric doesnt matter anyways, only thing that matters is that drifting RC in general is cool. Nitro looks cooler. [>:] dont lie it does look cooler. [8D] < like that smily

Magnat, you pointed some good things out, You made me realize Nitro Difting isnt for everyone. Thanks

This is not a flame, just releasing my blow off valve. LOL

Mostly noobs give these nitros a bad name. Take the most advanced, hopped up ace of a car...make it an RTR and it'll be crap by morning. They buy and RTR and don't break it in and bash the crap out of it. Then they complain because it won't run right and breaks. Anyone familiar with nitro knows they are not as easy as electrics. I honsetly think the down time required for nitros is worth it. Noobs don't want down time. They want to fill it and run it.
