Default TC-3 or TT-01????

I see a bunch of TC3's on epay for under $100.00. Is it better to go that route or just get a new TT-01D?

TC3 ANY day, it's a proven and very successful grip racer that the TT01 isn't, spares are cheaper than the Tamiya and the car is bulletproof

Would I swap my battered and worn TC3 for a spankin new TT01?.....would I eck

Guys, thanks for the reply. But now I am at the same point I was when 1st posted my question. 1 vote for TC3 and 1 vote for TT-01. So, I guess I need to re-phrase the question. I dont really want to race it, since I dont have a drift race scene where I live. Its just for fun. However, i do want the best reliabilty, ease of use and availability of parts for the money. Initial cost is not an issue, I can go up to $350 for the car, but dont really need to do so since I am just looking for a car to "play" with.

TC3 is a Proven Grip racer, No Arguement their but for Street Drift the TT-01 is a more Sturdier And Solid Chassis that is easy to work on and Will take Street Drifting and Pro Drfiting Easily and Since the Support Net work for the TT-01 is so Global Tuning and Hop up Support is Wider..
For fun Factor and Expense the TT-01 is the choice of the Day...

Best thing is to watch a Few online Drift Vids Featuring Both Chassis and see which you like the Best..

TC3 has an Exposed Pinion and Spur, All it takes is a small Pebble to ruin a Good days Sliding..
TT-01 D has Covered Spur and Pinion.. More Rock and Pebble Protection necessary for those Car park meets

i got my tt-01 a week ago and it rocks - like u i'm just using it for fun. you may not think much about the whole stone flicking up inside thing, but you really should - after a session u turn the chassis upside down and half the carpark seems to have collected inside the car! so i can see a real potential for damaging a more exposed drive-train

i say go tt-01

Thats why we call it Car park drifting, You seem to take half the carpark with you

Yeah Exposed is a big risk at a car park meet, OK for Race and Track work, Not so good at Car park Battles..

COOL! Sounds like the best way to go is the TT-01. I agree about the parking lot. My Nitro car with the drift tires on it looks like I dumped a can ashes and dirt on it. Its a mess. So, enclosed drivetrains is the way to go. Thanks agian. Dave

i have a tt-01 and recently take a tc4 kit from the looks of it the tt-01 is no match for tc4 its very simple for begginers and you must buy many hop ups to improve its speed handling ect,the tc4 come with all this almost no need to buy nothing and its very flexible also
for begginers in the tt-01 galaxy the recommended hop ups is aluminium propeler shaft, metal ball bearings, aluminiun steering, turnbucle shafts, oil shocks with medium to hard spring, slick tires,58 turn spur gear ,21,22 turn pinion gear, and aluminium motor mount by gpm racing. dont put useless parts like motor heat sink you dont need the extra weight.

Like everyone says here"Any 4wd will drift just fine". No arguement that you can find plenty of parts for both models. TC3 has tons of factory team parts, tt01 has lots of hop ups too. I my words "It depends on your budget!

A heat sink is very important on a TT-01..
Motor life is increased as when drifting there is reduced Airflow so the heat sink is definately worth it.
The only parts needed to make a TT-01 great is the Ball bearings, Alloy propshaft and Oil filled shocks... Any other alloy part is optional..

i think you missing the point heat sink is only for show it doesn`t do any good at all they only fit on a 540 motor that dont get to hot at all i run my car for over 30 mins with this motor and the motor just get little hot, great for what? people want speed not to go 20 miles the hour with the stock spur gear and pinion,by the way gpm propeller shaft fit better to the car than tamiya`s one and its lighter too,i just cant get the car to go to straight line,if you want speed go to lrp 9t v10 spec 4 motor its very cheap and fast almost 47.000 rpm.battery use a venom 3600 will do,esc novak tc2,21t pinion,58t spur gear with this specs i get over 60mph

I use a Tamiyz TZ (Also have the V 20 spec4 10x2T) and the Motor Cuts out without a heatsink, Put the Heat sink on and the Air Gets around the cooling Vanes and Keeps it cooler by 7 degrees..
So it does do its Job...It isnt there for bling it actually does it s job which is to provide a Bigger Metal surface for the Heat to transfer to giving the motor a better heat dissapation rate..

Heat sinks to count.. They work on Boats, Planes and Helicopters even your PC has a Heat sink so it does work..

no problem pal,i can tell you anything you want, what is your setup to the tt-01? i suggest put a lithium grease every time you rebuild it its very effective,if you buy a mod motor, you need to rebuild it every 2,4 runs so it works smooth,a very low cost good motor is the Peak Performance raven s motor, but for speed the lrp 9t will do the job.i forget i have also a f201,a f103gt,a tlt-1,a tc4,a hornet, and a marui vintage jeep.,2 airtronics radios (xl2p,cs2p) the only problem with the ta-04r for me is that it has too many parts i need many hours to complete it the ta-04r has one of the best tamiya tires, frond a rear ball differentials, stabilizer f&r,ball bearings, turnbuckles, aluminium shocks that are adjustable, carbon upper deck, and many metal parts,i think this car is really a pain in the ass coz you can adjust almost everything on it,even the smallest part, the only hop up i think it need`s is the aluminium wheel hub

it hardly fits to this motor not doing good conctact,my 9t lrp get off in 7-8 mins max without heat sink,i just cant find better magnets for it,that they sell them by part, thats the problem.i know what job they do,i have a alloy motor heat sink/mount to the motor,no more extra weight i use this car for drag race only.not for long races
