***Warning Explicit Lyrics*** mostly all songs nowadays have some explicit lyrics in em, so y'all been warned. 1st attempt at drifting with some new tires I made, and they are not PVC or ABS as they would be to slippery for Nitro. The vid I made was like 202mb so this is just the first part I get better as I get a feel for the tires. Let me know what yah think
and yes thats an RSX drifting lol its my basher body!

I hate youtube makes the vid look like crap. Is there a site where you can upload video and keep the quality like the original video thats under 50mb?????

What kind of tires are they? Anyway it still looks way too grippy.. My TT-01 is running on ABS with a 27T super stock motor and it gets longer slides then that! [8D] I think you should get ABS or PVC because your tires hook on too much. I had the same problem when I used drift radials.

actually they are pretty slippery and was hard to control..I just need to practice some more. abs or pvc would be brutal on a nitro. I actually have some cut ABS that I wanta get rid of.

Looks like your problem is that you need to stop flooring the car too much and balance it out with aceleration and steering. Remember that speed isn't as important as control in drifting. ABS can be used on a mild nitro if done correctly. Good luck with it and I would like to see another video when your up there. Please view my vid as it may give you a few pointers. Cool vid man! I dunno for some reason when I see electrics drifting on ABS or PVC it looks like their driving on ice. U got some skillz keeping it in really good control. I like having some grip seems somewhat more realistic too. I find right now that my suspension is too stiff, once I get my purposely built nitro drifter I'll have it set up better. I was using my 18ss for drifting just to try out those new tires.
And you are right I was giving it too much throttle. I found at a steady low throttle I had really good control but its awesome hearing the engine roar doing a drift and watching smoke spew out haha. I was inspecting my car and tried turning the tires to see how freely the drivetrain moved and realized it was somewhat binding. I turned clutchbell and it was grinding so I took it all apart and found out my spring came off the clutch. Is this a common thing for Nitro Drifting???.. I read in another forum that you burn clutches up pretty quick and think there was something about the springs coming off. Any info would be much appreciated.

Nice to hear.. I like the smoke from nitros.. Gives it a more realistic look
Well I don't know much about nitro since i'm a electric guy so I would recommend that you ask somebody in the nitros forum. Often times there will be somebody there to help you.. That's what I like about RCU.

Not to sound mean or Cruel but Your werent Really Drifting... It was some nice Car control but drifting is where the car travels in a Direction contrary to the way the car is heading...
What I mainly saw was some Nice Tail Out...
I Recommend Some ABS Tyres and a Steady Hand on the Throttle and you will be fine...
Just remember to keep an eye on Engine temps
Nitro's can Drift, but they dont like it very much...
I mean the Vid was very cool but Not Exactly what I would call drifting...
2nd Part was alot better
Keep Practicing !

yeah somebody up there said electrics on abs feel like they are on ice....i agree...i dont like my electric on abs...i got hpi drift radials and while it is harder to break lose, im learning more skill...my buddy with the same drift radials on a nitro has to be going twice as fast as me to really drift....otherwise hes just doing as magnat said, having some tail out fun...the drift radials on my electric has made me really dial in my suspension...i like that.

Thanks for the opinions, I like hearing the comments whether its good or bad.
Magnet thanks for the headsup, I know I was kicking the tail out quite a bit and just loseing control not getting it into a nice drift. I did do a couple nice drifts there, so I know that these tires should work out pretty good for me. I'm thinking they would work really good for electric too. And drifting is kicking the tail out.. its just keeping the tail out while moving in the direction is something that will come with practice and a better setup. I was also running red pinions which is a taller gear meant more for high speed. I wasn't really haveing much of a problem with bottom end. Maybe going to the purple pinions will be a better idea. Couple questions..
Whats a good suspension setup.. hard or soft??? (I've done some research and seems like its more personal preference)
My steering was really sensitive and had it set so that I can turn either way pretty sharp. Should I have it set so its not so sensitive and not turn so sharp??
Thanks Guyz

Nitro Drift on ABS..
The motor needed alot of cooling down afterwards
Drift is sheer torture for a nitro but can be done..
The same guy who owns this RS4 owns a Yokomo Electric and for Drift , the Electric is just far easier to control..

ah kick ***** vid. I love rally car racing its one of my favourites to watch. Soo much action. I couldn't believe some of the crashes in the vid, amazing!!
That nitro drifting on ABS.. it just looks so unrealistic how he's drifting. Its like a real car drifting on its rims basically of course its gonna slide. The thing I like about drift radials is its hard to master and is more realistic but once you get it, its a sinch! I definately need a bigger area to get some high speed long drifts. Yah true.. it is torture on your engine but you have to tune it right.. if you rich'n it up a bit, enough oil will get in there that it will keep things cool. I was runnin' at around 240 but I think one of the main reasons why it got pretty hot cause for a minute or so while I was drifting and giving it gas it was reving really high.. I thought it was because my tank was getting empty but I found out later that night my clutch spring came off.

Correct on Both Occasions but there are those who will insist that Nitro is better so it would be foolish of a company not to accomodate their Needs..
Those in the Drift Circles know which one is better

Ok, since your all talking bout nitro drifting, I will share what I have done to keep the heat down on my car.
Cut both side windows out!
Since your going sideways most of the time, then chopping a hole in the windshield and rear window of the body doesnt do much for cooling...
I have 1-one inch round hole above engine for my glow stick, and 1-one inch round hole above, but between the HSN and tranny 2nd gear adjuster. Since its nitro, I have the drivers window cut for the recoil, well it dawned on me that the air is getting to the engine more-so when sliding left then it was sliding right. So chop chop! And now its sweet.
I can run a whole tank at a time and never see 250... But then again, I never use more than 1/2 throttle on ABS and 1/4 throttle on PVC!
My car is a VINTAGE Kyosho Spider MKII 4WD belt drive, D-spec ABS tires(lol) with a .18 CX strapped on. This thing can go for miles sideways. Too bad for belt drive thow, the rest of the car is solid... At least I can still order the TM17 belt or it would be on the shelf by now.

Thanks Bizket! I think to truely experience RC you need to try a Nitro... once you go Nitro you won't go back to electric
Hopefully Nitro Drifters will catch up to electrics. Those D10 guys do amazing electric drifting. As in my previous posts about buying an electric car.. that still maybe an option but for now I'm having too much fun drifting Nitro!!
Fr33ze I never thought of it that way.. On my new bodies I have a few holes drilled in the windows. Time to chop em up but still make them look nice! U should still have the holes in the front and back too.
As for a Stage-D kit.. I don't think there is any need for it. The D-Box would be a cool thing to try out. Has anyone tried it out????

Been Through Nitro.. Too much Mess and too many parts Breaking.. For Drift, Electric is the Only way to slide..
If you are talking in those terms, then Electric has caught up and Surpassed Nitro..
With Brushless Systems they have now, Electric has already surpassed Nitro as the King of Speed .
The Only thing electric doesnt have theat nitro does, is the Sound of a True engine..
It is fact these Days alot of Nitro's are turning to electric..
