Default RE: Why 4WD is important.

Been a while since I posted this thread; nice to see so much interest.

I like the challenges; many have responded that this is not impossible; whereas I proved to myself that it was.

Before I disagree with you completley, I urge you to show me it can be done; which shouldn't be hard as many of you know oh so much. Put it into practice; and it doesn't work. I urge you to TRY it. Not type about it.

Remmember what drifting is. All the wheels must loose traction; not just the rear. Anything else is a powerslide.

Drifting is parallel loss of traction; at each corner. That is why in 1:1 there is so much smoke. Whatch the wheels; the car never travels in the direction of the turn applied to the front wheels. I tried this last week with a Nikko RC car, as much power as a TT01; but it cannot drift. Not today or tomorrow.

I maintain my point; lets see you do the same

Chris.

Not a problem, C.A.R., I've already made some [crappy] videos and put them on Youtube and Google Video if you're interested. Those weren't consistent at all, but one or two of the slides have all four tires visibly slipping. Technically, the front tires on my car should always be slipping: they're hard plastic. But since I'm trying to fight skeptism here, I have to make sure my next video makes the front tire-slip blatantly obvious, right? I will try my hardest.

I've improved my consistency lately (I used to drive sitting down on the floor... standing up makes everything easier) so I'll update you ASAP (Friday should be possible) with a good video clip, with all four tires sliding around a marked apex.

Edit: Somehow damaged the FETs in the car... there's no forward. Give me a few days. 2/12 maybe?
