hell yes you can, i drift all the time on the street and tar!!...
its smooth and very fast, yoko rings get a bit busted though if you slide over a slight bit stone but other than that yes....

what tyers you have??.. the hpi tyers are fine and my bro says his tamita tyers hold up well aswell, the yoko will also but dont get the tyers with the rings in them..., if you hit a small stone it pulls the rubber and ring away from each other and gives an uneven tyer....

Never slide on Bare rims.. Wack Some Pipe over them or a hard compound tyre and go sliding..
I prefer pipe Tyres over Hard Compound as it takes a different technique to get rubber tyres to slide... Polypipe is just so much easier and cheaper..
