i want to buy a car that is used just for this years comp...here are the list, as i understand the engine must be to the rear of the car not the front acording to the rules..so..
tell me what you think will be the best...
http://www.hpiracing.com/kits/pro4/pro4_main.htm ... hpi pro4
http://www.speedtechrc.com/store/ebp...il.asp?id=5993 .... kyosho tf-5
http://www.teamassociated.com/ae/tc4/kittc4.htm#Factory ... team associated rc10 tc4 ft
http://www.ftdmodels.com/cgi-bin/newsscript.pl?record=7 .... schumacher mi2 ec
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLSM6 ... tamiya trf415 msx
http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/pro...tId=0000001305 .... yokomo mr-4tc bd
any reason for and against would be great, i will be looking for a car that is strong, ( no flex).. adjustable settings and light...
soooo.....lol

I'd proabably think the BD of 415 would drift most competently out of that list.

I assume you've read the rules... its all in there, honest.
Anyways, to answer these questions... the 415 and BD are fine, 19T motor limit, Novak XRS is real popular with all competitors and 2.4gHz is fine.

The bargains are out there surely, just keep looking.
We have competitors using all kinds of chassis' from the TL-01, TT-01, TA-03, TA-05, MR-4TC SD DP, MR-4TC SD SSG & Black Special, MR-4TC BD, HPI Sprint, HPI Pro3, HPI Pro4, Hot Bodies Cyclone, TeamAssociated TC3, Xray T2R just to name a selection that I can remember off the top of my head. So it's not as though having a high end chassis is imperative.

Yeah, if you have the money to get something that is fully adjustable, it will save you money in the long run.
Also, there may be a chance to attend a demo meet at Santa Pod on "Rotostock" August 11-12th. For anyone who is interested, plase visit [link=http://www.drccentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7777]HERE[/link] for more information and to tell the organiser that you are interested in attending.

After the shakedown practice event that was held recently, the annual AGM took place to discuss some issues that had been raised over the past months and some updates have been made in the positive direction to allow more scope and ease to entrants and drifters all over the UK alike. Most noteably, the updates include:
#1 - Motor limit has been reduced to 18T to allow the Team Orion Drift motors, most significantly.
#2 - Bodyshells can now represent FF and MR layout cars as well as FR and AWD ones to give drifters more variety.
#3 - The new HPI T-Drift tyre is now okay'ed for use in the D1RC UK Drift Series which now means that there are two tyres available to choose from. The performance is almost identical to that of the Yokomo ZERO-ONE 'R' Super Drift #ZR-DR02 tyre.
On another note, a new sponsorship deal has just taken place with Mirage Racing, distributors of products from such companies as HPI, Hot Bodies, X-Ray, Team Orion and Nosram. This is a big step forward for UK Drifting.
We are getting 30 pairs of T-Drift tyres in for Round 1, before they officialy hit UK soil, so if anyone enters for that and specify on the entry sheet (just write it on) that they want some for then, do so. We are going to sell them to entrants at a lower price than RRP which is £5.99 a pair (compared to the Yoke's RRP which is around £10 a pair) but most probably at the same price as we do the Yoke's for D1RC entrants which is £5 a pair. Both cheaper than their RRP. Also, some people outside of the UK that have tested T-Drifts for quite a while now, say that they are pretty durable.
To sum up the prices:
ZERO-ONE 'R' Super Drift Tire #ZR-DR02 (Single Ring): (RRP £10) (D1RC entrant price £5)
HPI T-Drift #4406: (RRP £5.99) (D1RC entrant price £5 - most probably)
Prices above are for pairs of tyres.
Now you have more tyre variety and less expense...
Any questions, feel free...
