Body Reamer and Body Scissors
These are very good investments! I bought a pair and since I love Painting bodies, it made it easy. Before, my wheel wells were jagged, but when I used the scissors, it was so a perfect cut and easy to.
Now the reamer was harder then a drill. Half the time I was trying to figure out if it fits.
I both them in a pack for $12
I am in this forum because I use it on my drift cars. lol

While we are on this subject... How do you cut straight edges?
I tried razor knife, body scissor and house hold straight scissor, but they all didn't work well enough.
It's also hard to see the line on the clear Lexan body.
I suppose the XActo #11 would be the answer? Do they really cut better than the box opener blades? How do you cut it?

To cut it straight just hold the scissors still so it doesn't curve and it will be straight. Plus using a Xacto knife will swerve off and make jagged lines.
By the way Studysession I bought them at a store. But heres a link:

No only use lexan scissors. don't use exacto knives. and patience. go slow. no need to rush.
Another thing, I've been having great success with is circle cutters. the key to using the circle cutters is to score a small section of the wheel well at a time.

You can see how well the circle cutter worked on my wheel wells.

Whoa that looks really good!! I like leaving a small folded edge in the wheel wells.
Patience is hard to come by sometimes... but practice makes it perfect.

RE: Body Reamer and Body Scissors
A tip to newbies like myself:
I have done this a couple of HPI bodies now, and the last time it went a lot smoother than the first. I have also used the circle cutter mentioned above. The first try I thought I had to use the circle cutter to pierce the lexan entirely, but what I found this latter time was that the cutter only needs to make an incision into the lexan, so you dont actually need to get the blade all the way through!
Using this technique I had no problems with "cutting" (its more like drawing) the entire circle in one turn. I used medium force, and the blade left a clean track. I then applied some pressure with my hands from the outside in towards the middle of the body, the lexan just slid off leaving a perfect circle without any jagged edges. Kind of the same gesture as if you were tearing a piece of paper.

Very nicely done Hammerhead, you don't see many Volkswagon Drifters, I want to get a Jetta of some sort, preferably the year 1997.
I wasn't able to find a Circle cutter at the store.
But the Lexan Scissors work fine for me.

If you just make a deep enough line on the body, you can later just kinda tear it off, then clean up with some sand paper. I found some 2" sanding wheels on ebay for my Drill, after I cut out the circles , it helps cleaning them up perfect.
