I am getting into RC drifting. It is my first serious RC experience. I have had many slower and smaller rc cars. I found 2 bodies i want. Either the Lotus Elise or the Toyota MR2. I own an MR2 so it would be cool because i could paint it red and it would be a like a little twin car. I just can't find any chassis or anywhere to get the right kits. I need everything except a body. Can anyone tell me what exactly i need for this? Are there any kits that include all the electronics without having to buy everything seperate, but still dont have the body? I like the TT-01's but can't find just the bottoms in a kit. Thanks for the help.

HPI make a Lotus Elise
ABC Hobbies make a MR2 (Cost a fair bit though as you need to get them from Japan)
Just go with what you really like..
As Long as it is 1:10th Scale ,AWD and Electric, you cant go wrong..

If you want to Go TT-01 as a Ready to Race, Look for an XB Pro TT-01..
(XB series stands for Expert Built, Just means you only need a Charger and Batteries)

You could always get a used one from ebay. I got a TC3 for 150 with everything. There are a lot of good deals you just have to look. Also you could get a new TC4 RTR for around 220.00.

What is the difference between a TC3 TC4 and TT-01. Are they all good to use? I just know that the TT-01 is used most because of it's price and durability. What about the other 2? Which is the best? Thanks

I'm just going to add in my two cents....
If your buying off an online trading site, watch out for scame. I just got a scam... The buyer (somehow) tempted me enough to buy the car without it running, all because the glow starter needed charging (it was a nitro car).
If your interested in a car online (on ebay or whatever), post some pictures of it (I don't think we're allowed to post the link), these super-smart-doods at RCU will tell you what's up on it. But the best thing you can do is see it going before you buy it eh?
Good luck on it (I know I'll need it)

Unlike a Nitro, If an Electric Car doesnt run when you buy it, we can Help Diagnose the problem on line and if it is Ultra bad, then all you need to do is buy a cheap component to get it to go, unlike a Nitro where the Cheapest component could be a New Engine.... not good...

The TC4 is a Premium Level race Bred Shaft Drive.. It is one of the Best Shaft Drive platforms for racing.
Some say the TC3 Handles better, I have only ever driven the TC4 before and found it really nice to slide..
The TT-01 is the Economy pack.. its Nice to drive and Does the job but needs a few upgrades to improve its slide-ability like an Alloy propshaft and Ball Bearings..
So If I were to put it like this
The TC4 would be the BMW, Race Bred and Powerfull and a Delight to drive but expensive to repair
The TT-01 would be the S13 Silvia : Cheap, a Blast to slide but needs upgrades to unleash the Demon inside...

im not a fan of the tt-01's its not fully adjustable like your tc4's or tc3's. i have a losi xxx-s rolling chassis that needs a shock tower and all electronics if your interested. awesome drifter. the enclosed belt system is great.

Best place to buy used chassis is from www.rctech.net There are alot of racers there that just sell them for dirt cheap when they're done. I can build you a RTR if you want. I've got a JXRS and a Mission2 available if you're interested. What's your budget?

It's not really too much of a budget. I mean i would like to spend as little as possible, but i'm not set on anything. I am looking around $250 maybe a little more or less if possible. I like the TC4's and they seem to be right around 250, and i like how the rtr's come with the remote. Just have to find a battery and charger. I want to get the MR2 or Elise body, so just an rtr without a body would also be nice, but most chassis dont have radios or servos or any electronics sometimes. I'm just trying to keep an eye out for anything i really like right now. I have found TC4's at like 239 after shipping. Aries: Do you have the stuff on your website i could look at? The problem is i'm new to bigger scale RC cars. So i dont really know what you mean with the names of some stuff. I have a 1/10 scale celica from like walmart or something, it's like a import racer something. I would just have to drill holes for the posts and i could use that body, with the lights and stuff too. Would the 4 chan radio for that work with other RC's? It only goes like 10 or 15 mph but could i possible just use like the servo and radio from that in a different chassis kit just so i dont need to get a full rtr? Thanks.

On towerhobbies.com, you can get a Sprint2 RTR with EVERYTHING you need. Since it is $244 for the RTR, you get $25 off since it is a purchase over $199. The problem with getting RTRs, most people will end up upgrading the electronics that come with it which = more money spent. PM me your email and I'll put something together for you, send you pics and a price.
