Default Planning on upgrading to a 19T drift motor

Anywayz, my main concern is: I'm currently using a Tamiya stock ESC so do I need to get a better ESC if I upgrade to a 19T motor? (I'm currently on a 27T)

Ya 19 turn would push your ESC too hard you will have to upgrade.

Okay.. My new ESC just cost twice as much as the actual motor...

New Motor: Yokomo D-1 Sports Zero 19T motor

New ESC: LRP AI Runner Series

Are you sure? People say the Tamiya ESC can handle up to 19T.

I just upgraded my 27T P2K2 Pro to 19T Team Orion Formula SV2 Pro BB 19x2 recently, I'm loving this new motor and it completely SMOKED the trinity P2K2 Pro(dyno at 102.3nmm) and tamiya sport-tuned motor in both low end and top end power. For this setup I'm using the stock tamiya ESC, the only thing I did to it is using Arctic Silver epoxy to attached a 2"x2" heatsink(pulled from old video card) on top of the ESC's tiny little stock heatsink, after 40 minutes of non-stop drifting the massive heatsink is only luke warm, so yes I think the stock Tamiya ESC will take 19T all day long if you can keep it cool.

If you must upgrade the ESC and on the budget, try Tazer 15, can take down to 15T for about $30 from tower. As for motor, from what I heard the best 19T money can get is the Team Orion Element V2 2007.

on a 2wd the teu101 might take a 19t but youll soon fry it. unofficially you can only run up to a 23t motor on the teu101.
dont get a 19t drift motor get a tamiya tz and mod it with bearings or a good stock motor like a p2k2 or a co27 and tune those motors. and get a better ESC, its a once off buy thatll last for ages.

spend cash on something like a Novak GTX or LRP v7.1 etc.
