Nice Vids Guys - Thanks for sharing!

I just bought 50' of 1" pvc piping and I have some markers to make a course to start practicing on. Luckily I have HS close and the tennis courts are perfect!

Stay Tuned!

it's hard to catch your car on film when you have to drive it too.

I drift a losi xxx-s with a mamba 5700 system. It's sweet!

the car is a lexus gs430 and yes that is a pink drifter.

Nice videos...especially "drifters gone wild". It would be a pretty sweet element to RC drifting if there was a take off and landing ramp. With enough practice you could make it pretty smooth looking. I gave a video response to your micro rs4 video. I've got an 18r, but it's over powered with a mamba 8000 and a 2s lipo. Still fun though.

Lets bring this thread back to life!
Awsome videos.

Idea:
We should get a lil freestyle video challenge going. Whos gonna judge????

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tMfotkizNQ

I tried to get a good clip of me drifting but the wind was blowing me everywhere and I couldnt keep the car in frame
So I got some slow speed carpet sliding.

For now we'll just have to do it for bragging rights.
Before we even consider a sponsor we have to popularize it.

We could do it by segment & class

Classes:
Electric
Nitro

Segments could be:
Tight technical
Longest/Fastest Sweeper
Some kind of Challenge such as:
Who can drift with a half cup of water taped to their shell without spilling

ect...

There could be more... Just the top of my head

thats a nice type r right there. you should paint the connectors on the side of your intercooler a greddy blue or something. it would probably stand out better.

What's up Kuppler? It's (was) werfliss from the Red Cat forum. Are you branching out a bit, or have you always been into the onroad stuff? I've still got the redcat, but I play with the onroad stuff a little more now days. I like drifting them a lot, it's a ton of fun! Anyway, good to see you here. Thanks for ponying up...at least we have something now!

This contest sounds fun. I would like to do it. Will there be a large window to submit video and pictures? That way we can get the largest amount of videos; the more the better.

I like the idea of having different segments, so people can try to win one event for bragging rights, or go for the whole thing. Only a few of the segments can count towards the whole thing, especially if we get some crazy ideas going. I’d prefer it if the “cup o’ water” were not included into the overall thing. I try to avoid water if I can. Seriously though, I’ll probably try to do them all. I wonder if the water will affect the handling.

Each segment should probably have a different points system. I know painting skills are very scattered on this site. Driving capability should weigh-in the most.

Possibly a generic course each of us will have to setup in each of our locations? Freestyle course; whatever we can come up with?

Will video editing be allowed, or should they be one continuous shot? I haven’t edited any video yet. All I have is a small camera with decent video. We will obviously have a pretty unlimited amount of tries at a good run, since we will be the only ones there. That's fine with me, or we could try the trust system.

My dad and I both have Losi xxx-s'. I might paint a body if I have time. I was planning on doing another anyways. My street is pretty rough, but I will look for a nice parking lot nearby. Time to start reviving my batteries! [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

There are a lot of good videos in this thread too. I need to spend more time in this forum. It's usually pretty slow.

I don't know anyone who drifts near me. I think driving and competitions would be much more fun with a large group of people. I haven't been to any competitions, so sorry if I'm not very familiar with rules. I did talk my dad into getting a road car too, so we could do something like this for the competition. Judging on form and control? @ 3:10
