From my experiance the stock springs are too long and the shocks are underdampened. I have 35wt oil in all 4 shocks and running nitro rustler front springs and t-maxx rear springs. Seems to work great for all terrain. The shock holes are all stock but if you want more street preformance lowe all a-arm holes one out.

well my evader should be here soon im gona deff get it ready for onroad and alittle off road.i seen some videos of the stock evader and i for see alot of money going in to this truck. stock form is good but its not 100 percent what i want

thanks alot i dont have a paypal acc i must be the only one lol. im going to get my charger and battery pack in like 2 weeks . is there any must change parts that i should change??? im going to mess around with the shocks, and spur gear oh yea if i go to a lower spur gear shouldi change the stock pinon gear? im looking for alittle more top end speed

lol i might be in alittle better shape i have a debit card i been buyin things on line for over 15 years or so.just no paypal i do see alot of good parts on ebay. anyone thing they can answer my gearing question?

i just got a debit card last month! ordered my first thing online 2 years ago with my mom's H&R Block card. no pay pal or credit card (yet. for a credit card with my bank, they want a deposit and to get the limit i want, i'd need at least $650. if i had the $650, i wouldnt need the credit card!).

everyone has different desires when it comes to speed. i have had the subconscious thought pass through my head of getting yet another one (or try and fix one up with the arts i have laying around_ for some speed running. if you just want a little more top end, say 5mph or so, then yeah, just change the spur. if you're looking for 10mph or more, then both should be changed.

I would go with 26T pinion, 76T or 72T Spur. That will give you another 10-15mph.

great thanks i ummm was thinkin about geting the duratrax 23 pinion gear and i think its a 76 spur gear. my issue is the pinion gear wont be back for sale tell late oct. can some one post some links from towerhobbies to what i should buyifanotherbrand pinon gear will work thats fine. i want a pinon gear and spur gear for max speed with out issues. if any one can post the links from tower that would be great. thanks so much

Ok. If you have a hobby shop nearby, go in there and tell them you need a 25 tooth 48 pinch pinion gear. (Changed my mind about the 26T, it won't fit under the gear cover) All pinions are about the same quality. Robinson racing is a good brand and their spur gears fit any Duratrax Evader. If you don't have a hobby shop nearby, get this spur off tower. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXEY38&P=7 and get this this pinion from them too. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXEX23&P=7 Ok, That setup should work. I will also be ordering a new robinson racing spur soon too.

how fast are you looking to go and what voltage will you be running? this info is crucial for recommendations. you will want to change the spur to a robinson as soon as possible, all duratrax spurs are molded off center.

im lookin for 24-26mph, im going to get a traxxas 11turn motor and new esc in a few months. so with the stock motor and new gearing im looking for 24mph or so .i think with the battery and gearing i can get up to 24 anyone think different?

drop to an 80t and you'll be set. for the price of the traxxas 12t (i believe that's what you meant) and a new esc, you could get a cheap BL system. that motor plus a decent esc will be about $60, the same price as these http://www.hobbypartz.com/skyrcesc.html

never ran any of those myself but have heard good things about them. in know there are different ones there, i did that so you could see the options. the only thing you have to watch for with those motors is that they hate overheating. if you get them up past 160 degrees, they have a tendency to throw the magnets, so gearing should be limited. the good thing about those systems is that the motor isnt a full 540, but rather a 360 that has fins to make it look like a 540. this way you get a taste of brushless without having an uncontrollable car. once you are used to the increased power, you can switch to a true 540 without having too much issue with the insane power.

im not going to go brushless if thats was what i wanted i would got that brushless evader from the start. all i have left to do is get the battery, charger, and spur gear and pinon gear. after that im gona get that traxxas motor and i think duratrax has a speed control that will work with the motor. with out the new motor and speed control can  get my evader up to 24 -26 mph with just the gearing and battery.?

yep. stock, the motor barely gets warm so you have plenty of room for gearing. i would go as far as saying you could get it up to 40mph if you put a heat sink on the motor.
