Yup sounds normal if you have a dead NiMH or NiCad battery.
Charge your battery pack and see if that helps.
Let us know after you recharge your batteries.
Just a little more information most NiMH or NiCad battery packs will run for about 10 to 15 minutes before they require a recharge on older RC models. Some will run longer if they are higher capacity battery pack over a NiMH 3000 battery pack.
Do you have a NiCad, NiMH or LiPo battery pack?
More information required on your battery pack and R/C.

I bet the previous owner used lipo batteries and the ESC is set to cut off at a certain voltage. This setting is incompatible with NiMH batteries because they suffer much more from voltage drop under load, not to mention of course that having a cutoff set is pointless for NiMH batteries.
Either that or the battery is just dead (either temporarily (needs charging) or permanently (from neglect or abuse at the hands of a powerful brushless system)).

Check to makesure that your glow starter is fully charged. You can quickly check bytaking a new glow plug and plugging it into the end of the starter. If itglows, then it’s charged and the problem is somewhere else. If it doesn’t glow, then need to charge it or replace the battery and you should be good to go.<o></o>
