Looking at your piggy back battery pack idea got me thinking. Would it be ok to put a small stick on magnet onto one pack to hold it in place against the other battery pack?

hi ian
to be honest no i got it with my starter box
but i think maplins sell tamiya battery ends both male and female
i think the magnet would draw power away from both batteries
you could make some velcro straps
or use cable ties just make sure the fastener brackets are at the top of the battery
or use electrical tape you can pull it tight

I have got a lot of connectors about might give it a try before getting a proper one either that or nip into Maplins. will be interested if makes more power or just lasts longer.

hi ian
you would of thought it would
as there is twice the power going to the motor
unless the motor hit its max power output

look at it this way
nothing ventured nothing gained
[sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif]

you could always go down the jet engine route
cost a fortune but i think is would shift

Yeah well used proper connectors wired up, used some plugs from the old bycmo manual speed controllers and an old battery pack.
The motor is a 23t motor. Thinking about getting an 18t now the esc doesn't overheat.

Had a very odd idea about a 4x4 bycmo. Acually extend the base and have 6 wheels. Probably wouldn't work.

hi ian
yes its a small smoke unit used in model boats
its wired onto the motor and has to be going full wack
to make the smoke
im thinking of putting onto a switch os it can be on
even if the trucks not running or the truck runnong at slow speed
as for the bycmo i think it could work
if you want it to be 4x4
you will need 2 gearboxes and a long centre drive shaft
or you may be able to use 2 motors and rewire it into the esc
you would have to make sure that the motors run the sameway
hope that helps

I think the smoke looks good, like real smoke.
How does it work then?
Yes was thinking of two engines, could always cut up a shell and have 2 front halves...probably wouldn't work.
Could use the same method with the connectors for 2 batteries.

hi ian
you squirt i small amount of liquid i
nto the exhaust and the heater element
heats up the liquid and turns it in to smoke

if you get some alloy and make a chassie like the bycmo but only longer
use the bycmo as a template for the screw holes
then make the holes for the second gearbox
and motor
then add all the bycmo parts
you will need to have the motors connected together then into the esc
it should work
you should end up with a 6x4 and if you got some plasticard you could always
make your own body shell

Oh right, my mates Grandad had a lot of model steam trains so probably the same effect.
Hmm, I'm realy thinking about the 4x4 Bycmo now mate
Not sure on what plasicard is about. Will do a google search.

Got my eye on a part built car on ebay at the moment, Could make a complete car from spares we have but will help if we decide to do this little 4x4 project.
Started measuring stuff and trying to imagine what it will look like.
