you should get the anaconda tires for the rustler i think tha jato comes with them stock but i do a lot of pavment driving with my rusty and i have those anacondas and they are great they handle nice and so far they dont show very much where but they are no good in the grass or dirty. hobbypeople.net has them i think they are like 29 bucks with rims and tires

the rusty will not do a wheelie out the box [&o] but if u put some anaconda street tires on it go in reverse then punch it forward it will wheelie for days but get a engine cover because you will mess up the cover fast haha i learned the hard way. i think the nitros only wheelie out the box

What is the best replacement motor for the Rustler?
the bronze bushing is shot on mine. I sure wish it was a replacable ball bearing.........The motor is/was running as good as ever. (but gear mesh is suffering)

I would like similar or slightly better performance than the stock 550 motor.......

Thanks in advance

Team Orion Formula SV2 Pro BB 17x2 motor with a 15t pinion, better than stock by far. Motor is about 40 bucks at Tower.

I believe they are Jato tires. If you get them with rims, get the rears only. The front wheels do not have hex adapters.

here are the anaconda tires. I bought mine with rims and tires they cost me like 29 bucks but here is the tire alone i quess you could find some 2.8 rims at this place to go along with the tires. also i just got the rear tires the stock ones are fine unless u are doing some racing then i would probably look for some other tires !

I am about to buy a rustler, I was wondering if you put smaller tires on the rustler can you make it drift on pavment with pratice?

Edit: Also If I want to eventualy go brushless is it worth buying the xl5, wouldnt I have to replace the ESC anyway to go brushless?. So should I go with the none xl5.

why buy a rustler to do all those mods and not just go boy a car that is made for that i bet u can get one on the cheap? just a question and im guessing if you do buy a rustler the xl-5 is pointless if u are just going to get it get the cheap one and go from there why not get something like this

Hey,
I have most of the RPM upgraded suspension components. But evrytime I take my truck apart after racing with my buds my kingpins look like this or worse.....whats amazing to me is the servo can still turn the darn thing with these bent up parts. But the servo has to work harder and that takes away power from the motor and we cant have that.

Does anyone make harder pins or have a upgrade for a larger king pin.........
Thanks

Hey again,
Here are some shots of my side nerf bars I added to my Rustler. When we are racing (6 of us) the open wheels get tangled up together. One guy made some nerf bars from aluminum and he is winning more races. But they probably weigh 3 times what these CF ones weigh.
The wire is aircraft grade .032 safety wire. Then it is all smothered with super glue.
These bars make a Nice carrying handle too!

regards

I have the FLM front A arms and caster blocks with RPM bearing carriers. The Castor blocks come with a bigger pin to join the A arm to the caster block and have a bigger kingpin also (both are 1/8"). You will have to drill out the RPM bearing carriers so they will fit but it was easy using a dremil tool. The set up is well worth it. I have not bent either one of the pins yet and I have had some hard hits after getting my 5700 Mamba Max Brushless System. You may lose some of your steering range because the bearing carrier hits the caster block when turned all the way but it amounts to about a 5-10 degree loss in your sharp steering. BTW if you buy the caster blocks without the A arms you may have to drill out your existing RPM A arms to fit the right size pin. The king pin comes with the caster blocks and the other oversized pin comes with the A arms. All FLM parts can be found on www.rcbros.com or www.fastlanemachine.com. hope this helps!
