ORIGINAL: MTpockets

fuse are you running the mamba max esc? ive been thinking about swapping to that to have more optoins. is the motor really that bad. i was looking at the 5700

they are integy piggybacks in the front. in the rear im running t-maxx hot bodies shocks.
I am running the sidewinder and my brother is running the mamba max. I am running the 5700, he is the 7700. I really dont like my motor, it runs hot and scares me just cause i hate it when things run hot. I have heard that the sidewinder/ vxl or mamba max esc's are great combos. However you have to change the plug over to 4mm on the motor, if you dont mind soldering its not bad. Otherwise send it to me and i will solder it for you lol haha just kidding, but i would if you needed.

The 5700 is an ok motor, it depends on what tires you run. If you got the talonz forget about it. Dont waist your time it will overheat. Just get the vxl, on 3s it was under 140. I was impressed.

No I have only run the vxl on 3s. And if the vxl is the same or faster than a 5700 on 3s, itll be as fast or faster on 2s as well... And the MM motors are by no means bad. I actually love the one I have in my DF-03. They do seem a little more sensitive to gearing IMO, but run extremely smooth. I will say the VXL is my favorite motor for small trucks. My mega blows every other motor ive driven away though It might actually go into my pede soon...

MTpockets - You have the VXL system already correct? If you simply bash, the vxl is better than a MM IMO. Especially since you have the fan. IF you do want to switch, just get the ESC and keep your vxl motor... Save some $$$ ya know?

Guys, I'm going to need your help on this one!

I'm about to order a swami bar for my 'pede vxl.

1) Should I get the relaxed or full bend?

2) Can I just get the swami bar original? Or is it really that significant that I get one with the rock deflector, or even the one where it replaces the entire rear brace? I'm sure the original was out first...what did 'pede owners do then? lol

i think i might just only swap the esc to a mamba.

if i where to get a swami id get the full bend. i just think itll do better with jumping-landing bad. but thats what i mostly do is see how high and far i can jump the pede. i dont have one because i made my own little guard for the rear end. i can post a pic if you want.

Just do what i do and get a nice piece of titanium (has to be thick) and bend it yourself, drill some holes and you are done. Works way better if you have a water jet machine but you can do it on a drill press if you are carefull. But im not a preacher telling you how to do things.

I would not even waist my money on the swami. It just a waist of money. When i saw that they were like 35 bucks just for the regular i didnt even bother with them. I just make my own. I have landed from over 10 foot jumps right on the bar and nothing bends or breaks. And it shoots a nice set of sparks out the rear haha.
I can get some pics later.

Bet the new Losi doesn't have interchangable parts like the Pede does with like the Slash etc. It's one of the reasons we got a Pede, and they're pretty tough

@ Beaver180, I totally agree with you!

@ Fuse, I used scrapped iron because it's "edible" by a dremel. I always thought that swamis were decent in price because the aluminum/wheels/etc may cost less than 30 dollars, but you have to use tools to bend/shape it, cut it, etc. In other words, labor costs add it up to 30 bucks.

Idk though. I hear they're real tough.

This isnt the losi thread guys.

If you can find a nice free piece of titanium (what i do) and buy some 5 dollar wheels and 10-15 minutes of work and you have a swami. Not that hard. Swami just knows how to make stuff so thats why they make money haha.

dont mind the dirty truck. its just a piece of aluminum to keep the weight down. i bent it to protect the tranny better.it used to stick out straighter and acting a little like a wheelie bar. i kept breaking the plastic one that hold the wheelie bar. give it a try. i got the alum scrap for free.

You know... wheelie bars are like a precurser to stripped spurs. Maybe I should just make my scrap iron skid type wheelie bar into what you have, MTpockets. Loosen the slipper, less wheelies...more jumps. Mine will look just like yours, just different material

Will post pics tommarow.

Wow! Now that I don't need to buy anything, I can finally lose the plastic shocks. Can anyone recomend some aluminum shocks? Best bang for my buck would be nice. My plastic ones always either pop the cap and explode the oil or loosen the shock cap and lose oil without me knowing

I know integy piggy backs won't be good... just from all of the rumors alone

that's the first picture i've seen of the new Losi with the body off. i must say, i'm not impressed. not in the slightest. the stampede has outmatched parts support, great aftermarket, and IMO is a good design and a overall fun car to drive.

only one complaint with the swami... the wheels aren't the best. but they lasted me a while. i took mine off and bent it a little. now it looks like a spark bar (without the spark)

Because they made a truck to compete with the Pede? You do realize that the pede wasn't the first truck in it's class right?

the only thing IMO they copied was the high ground clearance, big deal. we all know it wont even come close to outselling the XL-1, XL-5, or VXL Stampede models... I'd love to see them try.

We're acting like losi can't make a stampede "rival" (wow, name overkill much?) But tbh, they didn't copy anyone... ground clearance is just the stampede's more prominent quality :P

In other news... I'd like to get some aluminum shocks. Aside from the traxxas big bores, what are my options?
