RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
To clean bearings, what exactly should I do? Like, how often should I clean them, and how? It seems pretty hard to pull the bearings out, and I'm not sure if I really have too. Is it ok to just put a drop of lube on the outside part every once in a while? Or is there more to it.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
Ive been looking for a brushless system for my pede/rutler. I saw three that i think will work. The Novak HV maxx on 10 cells, the ss5800 4-7 cell limit (Can i safly run it on 8?), and the other one was the LRP sphere 2. I have a 13t right know, but it doesnt ave enough torque. I wan to use it in sand. I would go with the HV maxx system, but i read that it will ruin your battery's unless there the high quality ones. Has anyone else ran the HV Maxx in a pede?

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
What would happen if I took the brushes out of the motor can and had wires replace them and had the wires make direct contact with the motor arm. Would that provide less resistance and more speed? figured i'd ask another one of my dumb questions.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
I'm starting to notice a bit of wear on the stock tires I have. They're still ok, but I can tell I will need new ones some time in the future. I guess I run too much on the pavement. Are the masher's good tires for both on and off-road? They seem more designed for off-road, and I tend to run on the streets a bit more. I love to run off-road, but only occasionally. Also, the masher's are a bit bigger, so will this be a problem with gearing? Is it too small of a difference to notice?
Thanks!
Thanks!

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
well i have only had my mashers about 2 weeks and i run on pavement, dirt, grass, dry river bed,(roof of my house) all over the place, and these tires are great on all those! my stock tires were getting so bad that i had very little grip on anything, but the mashers are a great tire and worth every penny. as far as gearing i never changed mine and i run 19t motor with 17t pinion.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
I am thinking about getting a Stampede. I know they are quite durable and a good starter truck (this will be my first RC purchase). I have a couple of questions. If I get the Pede I will also get the RPM axle carriers with 5x11 bearings. My first question is does the Pede have bearings already installed in the transmission? My second question is if the transmission already has bearings and I buy the axle carriers and bearings are there any other bearings I would need? Sorry for so many questions. I just want to make a checklist of stuff to buy when I order.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
The pede has bushing on the carriers, so you need to get the RPM carriers and some bearings.
Its a great truck I love mine! I can pull back flips all day long with it and usualy only break a cheap part once in a while, this truck is great!
As for the evader shocks mentioned on the last page, I tried them on the rear, OMG did they suck, they were off a new evader ST roller I got off ebay for the same price as the set of shocks. 30wt oil in them, put them on the pede and it was WAY too soft, I had to put the spacers almost all the way down for the truck to sit right and then if would bounce. So I went out a get some integey piggy back shocks, they work great and better yet look really cool!
Anyone try one of the new Novak GTBs? Whats the speed gain compared to a SS5800?
Also for people that have done the wide pede conversion, how much less durable is the front end? Seems like to me it would get considerably more brittle...

Yep, the pede already has bearings in the transmission, so you just need eight 5x11 bearings and the bearing carriers. I used [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD026&P=7]these[/link] for bearings. They cost much less than other bearings and work great.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
Do you have a link for HPI rush conversion
I also have the tie bar. I am thinking of marbe getting metal bulkhead with the conversion, possibly metal front casters too, but I dont want all the weight of the metal arms. And hey arms are cheap and easy to fix.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
all i can see is that your shock cap came off, try taking off the shock cap, screwing it back on to the shock, and putting the shock back on the car. if the shock cap is broken, they are really cheap to replace. i think like a couple bucks at your lhs. the oil is all up to u. i would buy a couple of kinds and try and see which one you like best. thats how i figured out wat oil i needed.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
Still banging on the shock issue....sorry if I am being repetitive....
I am having difficulty making a decision about which shocks to replace the stock shocks on my electric Stampede. I have read a lot about the Traxxas Big Bore, use of the Evaders, GPM aluminum, Integy piggyback shocks and a version of the GPM from an eBay store called RG-Motorsports.
I am thinking about these versus the Big Bores....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...71&rd=1&sspage name=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
I would appreciate any input shared on this subject. Of course springs and oil are a topic of discussion all their own. Personally I am not a racer but am looking for a high quality shock that is tough.
I also got an email from Integy stating that none of their piggyback shocks will fit a stock Stampede suspension. I was hoping they had a size that would work as they seem like a great shock. Not sure what that other person was saying when he said that Integy Piggyback shocks fit perfect on his Stampede. Traxxas sizes to use on the Stampede are longs (L) in the front and xx long (XXL) in the back if I am correct.
When doing the widened modification to the Stampede it appears there are several ways, although it appears that longers shocks are not used in any of the modifications that I have read. Is this correct?
