The gear box is cheap but you have to find out why it broke.

Cantavader Update...
My XXX-S Rear Shocks aare the exact right length... Yes!
Yes that is an alan wrench holding the turnbuckel to the cardboard... that will be a nut bolt and carbon fiber later on

Bad news is I need longer turnbuckles because the ones I have right now that are hooking the upper part of the steering knuckle to the bulkhead (This ajusts droop now... yay) they are at the maximum length and the arms are level... not too good for the basher...

Well first of all I just drove my evader for the first time today in years. And when I used to drive it alot I was real young and pretty stupid. But anyways I have a fly box (basically a quarter pipe and a landing ifd you didn't know) and I was jumping it and alot of the time I would clear it so falling bout 7-8 ft. to flat ground probably is what did it. I completly examine my vader and found a couple of other things broken nothing mechanical though. So I will go to ly lhs soon and get all the new stuff and hopefully a new engine and esc.

I think sumthin is broke? I was driving my evader and all of a sudden it started making this really loud clicking noise. So I took everything apart and the tranny was cracked on he side. So is that the problem? ALso bout how much are new ones.
Sounds like you are going to need some gears and other components inside. If this is true. A cost effective approach is to buy a complete transmission assembly from one of the tear down and part out suppliers on ebay.

I bought a new one off e-bay (from one of the "part out" guys) for $24.95 plus $5 shipping. It came complete with the brand new transmission, mounting plate, slipper/spur gear assembly, stock pinion gear and gear cover. Not too bad, I thought.

I got my side windows sprayed yesterday. They look pretty good. For the winsheild should I go to the top or mask off at the little bar above it? If you understand what I mean.

Here are some pics of my body. I contoured the corners perfectly. lol Hard to do with regular painters tape. I used little pieces on the corners and pushed the tape away with a pen clip thing.

I will have to get pics of the body on the car after the windsheild is done and I replace the rear toe-in block.

Looks good. I snapped the other axle today. I don't really know why this side broke. This was my fix.

tamiya ~ Does your camera have a macro mode? It is so the camera focuses correctly for close up shots. When you use it don't use the flash. It throws off the focus and quality. Find a bright room or lamp to use instead and hold the cam. very steady or set it on a table.

Ok after 3 days of ownership of a new Duratrax Evader I have to say this ST is a POS, being the first RC car in my house I have nothing to compare it too but if this is what the industry is putting out they should be SHOT! First the transmission support, then shock towers, then shock ends, then the steering servo[:@] Now I had a burned out HiTec servo from my boat and took the gears aout and swapped them for the damged ones and for whatever reason the servo will not re center, and if you bump the tires into anything it gets out of whack and you need to trim to get the wheels straight, also how does anyone get the servo saver adjusted right ??? Frustrated I guess, I don't mind wrenching on stuff but when you wrench more than run it is no fun. I can only hope my FG ST will be much better in the reliability dept

Not all servo gears are interchangable, the plastic rear tranny brace breaks, and the shocktowers on the original aren't as strong. There

You should try sending it back or something.

Hi Ive been away for a few days but yes I get my parts in Perth at my LHS heres the Web Address
[link=http://www.radiomodels.com.au]Radio Model Supplies[/link] they have some good stuff and their web ordering is quite good. check it out anyway. You should also have a hobby shop in Brisbane that you can most of your stuff from.

Anyway I'm back on the road now with some new parts will try to post photos soon.

Here are some photos of the new parts, they include new front bulk head and shock tower ball cups and battery brace. Looks a lot better with those yellow ball cups. Has any body had any experience with the Novak GTB system in an Evader. If this has already been discussed please direct me to where.

Anyway hoping to get some action shots this weekend. If I do will post some photos.
