i have had the novak ss 5800 in my evader for about 6 months, and just now the past 3 weeks i have had the mamba max 6900.. it can handle brushless power with no problem if you adjust it right.
on the mamba 6900 on a 7 cell battery my evader hit 48mph.

Thanks for answering my questions, cheech. Is this the diff gear you are talking about?

YES, dont forget the B2 diff rings either, also and the bearing size is different, you need a 5*8 size bearing.

I just need one 5x8mm bearing? 5x8x2.5mm or 5x8x2mm? Are these the diff rings?
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LX3225&P=7
So, my cart at Tower has a MM5700, aluminum idler, B2 diff gear, a pair of 5x8mm bearings, and the diff rings are on backorder. Any other suggestions to make the leap to brushless?

I got impatient with the backordered B2 rings, and mailed my B2 diffs and 5x8mm bearing back to Tower. I did install the aluminum
idler gear on both Evaders.

I don't really mind right now that they are on back order, I'll just get the parts they do have and set them aside so they aren't out of those parts by the time the diff rings are in. In the meantime I'll try the MM5700 on the tranny as it is, then install the new parts if/when the original ones melt.

does anyone know which fan from radioshack.com i should get? one that will be small like the on in the above link. and will the connectors fit for my reciver or will i have to buy different connectors?
thank you

For those of you, including myself, who picked up the Duratrax ST graphite chassis and complete parts set during these past couple of days for $34.66 on TH, you made a great deal. I checked this morning and the price went backup to $124.99. That was a huge savings and I figure had to of been a mistake on Towers end.

I'm selling my Evader BX Pro and wanted to give you guys the first crack at it.
PM me if you are interested.
I just installed the Orion Revolution 12x2 motor in it and have only run it twice. Includes 1 set of replacement brushes, Dirt Hawg tires f/r and another set of wheels w/hole shots on the rear and ribbed stock front tires on the front. Also about 15 various spare parts still in the packaging and misc other items including a Pirahna Peak Power Charger. Also will include stock Duratrax tx and a blue Integy heatsinc/fan.
You can see a pic of the buggy as my avatar under my username and even more pictures on mine and SpecialEd's website @ [link=http://geekrc.johnwisephotography.com/lilDevil.html]GeekBrothers R/C[/link]
I also have ST knukle arm on the front so if you have an ST, it will take the larger 2.2 ST wheels in the front and rear as well

It wasn't a mistake.... It listed in their overstock section. They had the BX kit in there a month ago. I was going to pick that up but decided to stick with what I have and go for the tranny upgrades. If you watch the clearance section and the overstock section they have some pretty good deals sometimes. Titanum shock shafts, titanum turnbuckles, spare parts. I've seen stuff for half off at times.

My graphite chassis kit was in yesterday's mail. I thought it was $75, but after seeing that the original price was $35[X(][X(]!!!!
Of course I don't have an Evader ST, but I might build this up with parts from ebay, etc. I'd much rather paint my own body
as well.
I wish I had known about the BX chassis kit.......[&o]

I wish there was a metal idler and diff. that would well together. Using a plastic idler and a metal diff. doesn't work well. And the metal idler and metal diff. do not mesh well together. It's just too bad...

I'm ready to order a Mamba Max power system but not sure which is best for the Evader. The thing that discourages me from the 6900 or 7700 is that on Castle Creations website it says:
NOTE: Mamba Max 6900 & 7700 motors are limited to 8 cell NiMh/9.6 volt or 2 cell/7.4 volt lipo battery packs!
If that is true, then I'm gonna order the 5700 because I have 6 cell nimh packs, & no lipo's. I don't want to have to use 8 cells! Does anyone use 6 cells with the 6900 or 7700, and how does it work? Also, how much more run time should I get from the 5700 over the 6900 or 7700, will the extra run time be noticeable?
EDIT: OK, I misunderstood, by limited they mean no more then 8 cell nimh or 2 cell lipo, whereas the 5700 & 4600 can do up to 12 nimh cells or 3 lipo cells.

That note is the motor's limit. You can use 6 cells or less, just not above 8 cells.

If I remember correctly rcmaster was one of the guys saying they did work well together. That's been a while back though so maybe he has more power now causing it?

^^^ Proof of my tranny freewheeling claims. With stock tires it freewheels for around 8 seconds, and with those mt tires on a 2 handed spin I wouldnt be suprised if it broke 14 seconds.
