a funtional rol gage will have to be welded or braized. solder will not hold up and copper is probally one of the weakest metals to use. i beleive he is only building it for show before he makes one out of steel.

i was gunna order rpm's t/b4 wide bumper cuz the front ends look about the same size tho you may need to re-drill, i may fill in the old holes with some glue that you can drill that my dad has than re-drilling it, i was gunna get it like i said, but i got badlands instead...

as for the extra wieght after driving my evader BL, i don't think half a pound tops will really kill me... and i might like the extra weight, and i'ld use it more for looks, maybe i'ld pick up some sheet metal and make some pannels out of that idk but i may really try that...

yeah i know but i'ld still mess around with the copper, i may make it on the outside of like a lexan body... idk... but it seems like a good project...

??? anyone ever bent a stub axel before? i just was doing maintence and noticed my stub axel was tweaked.
I used to bend them all the time in my Rustler. I may as well have ordered stuff like that in bulk. And that was before the velineon!

Bumpers... you might try one of these: http://www.t-bone-racing.com/duratrax.html

Lifetime guaranteed to never break or they'll give you a new one free.

I keep meaning to order a set but never have.

i may try that if it can just be soldered together...

Like riverat1540 said, a solid roll cage needs to be welded or brazed. If you just want one for show, soldering is fine. I expect mine to disintegrate after one roll over. But it is just a test cage to see if I like it or not.

This is what I use to solder it...

It's actually made for the kitchen, making Crème brûlée and baked Alaska. It works great because it's small and the flame is only about an inch long so it can be used anywhere without the fear of the flame burning anything.

you guys must be crazy that you are needing a roll cage! i've had the same body all 4 years i've had this car and i only have minor sratches and a few spots where the lexan is stressed.

as for bumpers, the reason i bent the stub axel is probably from either the huge triple at my old backyard track or me dropping it down the stairs.

so far the only thing i've broken (in 4 years) is 3x steering servos, 4x spurs, and a rear bulkhead. other wise everything on the car is just as when it was on the line. exept for shock stuff and slipper and servo saver and diff. (which needs a rebuild bad but i don't feel like it so i'm just going to wait till it blow then do a b2.

no accually drive it down, and also driven it off a set of like 6 a few times, (thats how i busted my arm, landed wrong doing that....)

as for sealed radio boxs i'ld look at the traxxas ones, for servos, you can put some thick grease around the gear on top and wrap the cracks in electrical tape...

another thing is that where i live once it snows we have about 1 foot of the flaky stuff so i was thinking skis!. i konw full force makes the kits for $55 and and riverat posted a while back you can fit the rustler knuckles on but i'm not ready to spend $55 on it. what about [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDCT4&P=M]these?[/link] they are 7 in long and i think with some dremeling and drilling i could simply just screw them into a set of evader knucles. the only problem i see is that they look thin and flimsy.
what are your thoughts.

i think that with the proper application of epoxy, and if you ran some thin plastic strips along the base, they could be great or metal like get it in a square shape cut a triangle channels with a bit or a dremel and that may work...

i've seen those but i didn't think it helped me very much, plus all those warning of things that could go wrong scare me. i'd rather just get a box for my radio and maybe ill try something with my esc or if duratrax can't fix this problem i'm getting one of those waterproof xl-5's.

whick of these bodies do you like better for my snowvader?

i was thinking a changecolor camo theme which i will probably need some advice on but i would like it to turn out something like. i was thinking of ripping some tape and putting it in radom places then peel pieces off and put down a coat and just do that with 3 colors, and i was thinking to really hit it off use some spaz sticks gold/orange/purple/red, pactra outlaw black and indy silver. this should look cool but i was wondering what body you think that wold look good on? i personally like the hi-speed body a tad more but it looks like the Hummer SUT will fit better

yeah i like the j concepts better too, looks cooler, this winter i wanna stud all my tires with nails, and run them on ice, well of course i'll try it with out nails first but, i think i may need up at least in the rears on the evader and b4, tho the savage'll probally take it all fine, its great in snow...

so what are you thinking about the paint? will it work or is spaz stick made of something else?

also i was thinking about the skegs again. how 'bout chopping up an old calulator cover and CA glueing (for now) it to the bottom of the ski's. can't wait for my order although i think i will be sitting dead in the water waiting on this ESC problem, i called last tuesday and it still ain't here!
