The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
Im thinking about that, i have a bike ramp and i could probably get garden hose and double it up into barriers. I think its better this way because it is easier to change up the track between designs and i could make my track bigger because it wont look bad.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
Does anyone know where i could get a peak charger for cheap. I want it to be able to charge at 4 amps which is the highest my battery is supposed to go. I currently have a 4 amp timer but i hate having to turn the thing every 15 minutes and i still dont get my battery to fully charge. My battery is a 7 cell 3000mah onyx with deans connectors.
Under $30 is my budget.
wouldnt be bad if it could do lipos.

Is your slipper adjusted properly ?
if your riding wheelies and such it is going to be harder on the diff gear.
Should be able to handle 2s no problem.

even when i run the slipper on the looser side..it still eventually shredds the gear case.....just takes longer when i run the slipper on the loser side...im for sure not running it tight enough to where im doing wheelies or nothing like that...dones u get less punch and power for the most part when u use nm batteries versus lipo's?..thats why im thinking maybe if i use them itll help some...

def less punch with nimh compared to lipos.
You tried replacing the metal idler with the plastic one ? May be something wrong with the idler gear itself.
The castle 3800 motor is a 4 pole motor that will have more torque that what your using now so that is proably not the answer.

ok thought so..so u think trying nm batteries with the 4600 will work?...wasnt talking about the castle 3800...sorry if i said wrong...meant the traxxas brushless system...the one that comes in the rustler vxl....would that maybe work better and be easier on it?..say using that system and nm batteries?....as far as the idler gear..no i havnt tried using the plastic one...i would think the plastic would shredd in a heartbeat...which is why they changed it from plastic to metal going from the ext to the ext2...

I have run evader ext/exb without issue using several diffrent brushless motors from 3300kv to 6000kv on 2susing the plastic idler, matter of fact killeddtx spur gears left and right butnot idlers or diffs
If I was you here is what I would do.
Inspect the metal idler for foriegn material. make sure all edges are smooth. Ifit has issues get a replacement or get the plastic idler.
Get a replacement diff
Do the b4 slipper mod. Sounds crazy I know but it performs so much better than stock.
The sidewinder will work with nimh batteries but your speed, runtime and satisfaction are all going to suffer.

the metal idler as far as i can tell is fine...so u would suggest changing over to the plastic idler and seeing if that works better?....also how do i do the b4 tranny mod?...have no idea where to even begin as far as putting a b4 tranny in the ext2...

Not the tranny swap but just the slipper pads and spur gear.
http://sites.google.com/site/evaderi...b4-slipper-mod should be here
Well lets just say I only had one idler gear strip and that was user error. If i was having issues with the diff gear I would change that idler to plastic.

http://www.hobbypartz.com/60p-dyc-1004.html
And is it a peak charger or does it use the set mah as an overcharge protection in case it does not peak.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
it is a peak charger and it also has capacity limit both adjustable
as far as the 5 amp supply I have no Idea, but in theory if you are drawing less than 5 amps it should be good to go
do you have a power supply out of an old computer anywhere

Im using that pc but i guess the other electronics (screen and things like that)cant be drawing more than an amp, so if i cant get the onyx 200 (because i already bid 20 so it would be 25 shipped) i would get your charger.
What is your power supply amp and how many amps are you charging it at?

no the ps has to be taken out of a computer and modified real simple but will never function as a computer ps again. so just remember if you all ever get a new computer dont throw out the ps modify it.
