Default Beating 1/1 scale car with an RC?

Is it possible to build a smaller RC car/truck (1/10, 1/18, etc.) that could regularly beat a full-scale automobile in a race? Flat-out on level pavement with no turns or anything, a distance of about 1/8 mile? My only experience with "ridiculous" levels of speed is a mamba-powered mini-T that can hit 40-50mph, maybe 60mph top if you have the space in which to run it. Does the speed scale up well with size... ie would a similarly built 1/10th with a brushless be able to hit anywhere near 90+ mph? Or do you start running into a 'wall' at a certain speed and is beating a full-scale car in a race just a pipe dream? My fastest 1/10th scale right now is a buggy with a 19-turn, and I don't think it goes much above 30mph on pavement.

A pancar on the fastest hacker of feigeo(spelling?) running lipos will probably only beat cars that top out at nowhere over 80-90mph. Unless you can somehow get a custom wound 2-3 turn motor, i don't think you'll go above 100 as the worl record 111mph was set on either a 1.5 or 2.5 turn motor(not quite sure).

You can hit 100+mph with a nito engine. There is even those guys that hit 200mph on their circular track.

A tether car of any kind can be made 200 mph. Not many people around this section like nitro, and most of have beaten nitros with our electrics.

The only real RC nitro tops out at 96.5 MPH
Fastest RC electric was on a 2 turn custom brushless running 24 custom cells...

my rc car could take my maxima off the line but the vq30de has awesome torque so then it starts catching up.

Fastest electric car was the team associated rc10L3 (i think) at a speed of 111mph...

yep. here is the article

"The 2003 Guinness Book of World Records lists the fastest-ever top speed of a radio-controlled car as 111 mph (178.63 km/h) set by Cliff Lett of Associated Electrics. Lett, a Team Associated professional driver and one of the designers and developers of the aforementioned RC10, set the record with a heavily modified Associated RC10L3 touring car at Irwindale Speedway on January 13, 2001. More can be found about the record at: Need For Speed"
