Making it smooth.
Ok guys,
I would like to know everything about getting my Evader as smooth as possible. Tell me anything you know. I want it to be the most smooth, quiet and efficient car on the track. So just say anything. Thanks in advance.

well you should probably rebuild your diff when it feels gritty (doensn't really mean rebuilding the whole thing, just lubing it and maybe replacing something that needs replaced). Also you are gonna want to clean your bearings every once in a while and break in the motor once you get it and get some break in drops and stuff heheh

What it really is is just the moving parts. I want them to make the least noise possible. So what should I use to lube everything? Like what kind of lube?

you would just need some diff grease/ lube from trinity or something like that. You should be able to find it easily. Once you get the diff lube then you just put it on the moving parts to lube it down

White lithium grease isn't that good in a tranny though it will work if that's what you have. I've used three types in my evader tranny, and black grease that that you would use with your 4 wheeler or car is the best. It's pretty thick, but not sticky like lithium, so as soon as you start driving the grease is already worn in.
Lube the motor bearings with light oil and same with all the other bearings. Keep your ride height al level because that will put the the least resistance on the drive train.

I think I will put some of that black lube you were talking about in the gearbox and I will put some graphite powder on the spur and pinion.

I just use red grease (automotive). No problems here. I run brushless in my stampede with a bone-stock tranny. It's just packed with red grease!

Tamiyacrawler, thanks for the tip to avoid white lithium for a tranny. My Pede is brand new, so I don't need to worry about it just now, but I'll heed the advice when the need does arise.

Does the Evader tranny need grease? If it has all plastic gears, there should be no need. What's wrong with white lithium in a Pede transmission? It holds up much better than whatever Traxxas uses, so you can use less without it breaking down. It's also great for the differential. If you pack the differential with WL, it stiffens it up a little for better traction without eliminating the differentail effect. I've used the stuff for years and my gearbox's hold up much better than my R/C buddies.

There's nothing wrong with lithium, it's just that it's sticky and the tranny is a little less free and slows it a little at high rpms. It doesn't hurt anything as i used to use it, but i find auto grease works smoother.

It'll work itself into all the gears evenly, so it doesn't matter where you apply it if it's ona gear. When i used to use lithium i put about a half finger full in there, but the black grease can be loaded in ther without anything happening.
