Motor timeing ???
Hi Guys,
I would like to know what happens when you set the timeing forword or back on an electric motor and how it efects performance eather way .

By advancing the timing the motor will spin faster but your run times will go down. By retarding the timing the motor will run a slower but your run times will go up. Most people either run them at 0 degrees to 24 degrees advanced

Good information above. One thing to add is that going into negative timing, below zero, is not a good thing. It produces excessive arcing and burns the motor up very quickly. Don't do it.
