NICE, where did you get the front oil shocks conversion?! Or you fab the shock towers yourself?!
It is a CRP front shock kit which came with the aluminum shock towers and the dampers and hardware. use this requires you to hack off the stock towers which is okay becuase back in the day that was one thing that always broke on this buggy.

Bet they don't sell that kit anymore!! They need to bring that back now that Tamiya has re-released the old classic!!

I'd like to see a double wishbone setup for my Lunchbox.....

Checked out your gallery.. nice.. I want to know where you got that aluminum wheel adaptor!! I was looking for something like that but ended up using the new one released from Tamiya for the Frog, but it converts the adaptor into 12mm hex.. (so on my Lunchbox, it is now running my Wild Willy tires/wheel combo..)

The Aluminum wheel hubs were made by Thorp mfg. They just take the place of the stock plastic hub which use to break all the time.

CRP made a double wishbone set up for the The Futaba FX-10 which was similar to the Tamiya striker. wit a little skill it could be adapted to fit the front of a lunchbox. I bought a kit and messed around a bit with it but it would need a bit of tinkering to make it work.

I bet the aluminum hub is no longer being made.. I searched left and right when I was looking to replace my broken one, and I couldn't find any.. ended up getting the hex conversion from Tamiya.. (which is great..)

Would be interesting to see the Lunchbox with a good front end.. ha ha! Although the front is usually not touching the ground anyway, so probably doesn't do much good!

Wow shodog .... Nice Hornet. I was never really a grasshopper/hornet fan. But I have to say thats a nice looking car. The hop-ups are sweet too !!! My friend had a grasshopper back in the 80's and we used to tease him. Man we were diks !!! LOL !!! We'd always talk like the KungFu Master and say "Snatch first place from my hand young grasshopper .... ohhhh so sorry ... too slow" Eventually He got a better car but looking back we were a-holes LOL !!!

Anyway man NICE HORNET !!! Makes me want one !!

LOL, that's funny!

The Hornet was my first hobby grade R/C, so it holds a special position in my heart.. :P That's why I am getting it for my nephew as his first real R/C!

So finally my parents are going to visit my nephew.. so the Hornet is leaving me....

As I know those spiky rear tires will wear down very quickly if run on pavement.. so I follow the recommendation and get an extra set of wheel and Grasshopper rear tires for my nephew.. (hey, I need to order stuff from Tower anyway, right?! )

Oh man...A hornet?

The first R/c car I ever had was the Hornet. I got it from a friend for free since the chassis was cracked in half right behind the shock mounts. I epoxied the shizzel out of it and ran it for weeks until i had enough money to buy a new tub for it. That car was so great and durable.

I ran the Hornet and he had the F-150...the vintage one.

I'd get my nephew a Super Clod with another GD body since he just love Grave Digger. When I showed up with mine he crapped his pants. He's only three, but talked about Grave Digger allllll day.
