Default Emaxx upgrades?

So since i have this Free Emaxx sitting around i decided to invest some $ into it here soon...
I'm not completely sure what i want to do to it yet but i'm leaning twards lowering the stance and widening the wheelbase to start with..i thought about redoing the chassis with aluminum since my dad runs a machine shop..but it'll take a while for that because we dont know where to start with it..but deffinately alum upgrades for sure...Also i would like to upgrade the motors..i dont know if i want to spend the $ on brushless and i dont know what to look for being new to this stuff...

Qs

1. what should i do to lower the stance and increase wheelbase?

2. Can i put skinnier wheels and tires on it with smaller tread? if so any suggestions?

3.What motors should i look into?

4. can someone explain what "turns" in a motor meens?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Here are some other E-Maxx threads that may help:

A lot of the information and advice is redundant, but that is kind of the way it goes with a forum.

If you want to make the stance wider, you should probably not go with thinner wheels and tires. []
