Tell your parents that you are saving money for them in the long run by stashing away stuff you buy at good deal..
Kind of like, your parents go to Costco and buy in bulk..
They will understand...

I've heard RC-fan talk about his job before (reffing soccer matches one of them was) so i doubt his parents pay for much of his stuff.

yeah my parents only pitch in when something really bad happens (like for the axle braces on my TLT my dad said, "yeah it sucks so I wanted to help you out" and handed me $20! hehe) other than that all the stuff is bought with my own money. I got the baja for xmas though and my parents paid for half of the TA05 as an xmas present. The savage was an xmas present/ my dad wanted me and him to have a hobby together so he bought it. I don't think my parents would understand though. My mom hates my hobby with a passion. She thinks it's a total waste of time and money, she just doesn't see me having fun with the hobby although I do have fun! My dad thinks I spend way too much, but he says it's my money so I can do what I like with it. RCXboy is right though, I do ref soccer and work around the house to earn money.
Anyway back on the subject of the TRF415: I got an email today saying that it shipped out yesterday. After a quick check to UPS's site for tracking information I was bummed to find out it was arriving on the 22nd! That's 8 days after I ordered it! But I guess with MLK day and then sunday isn't a work day and it goes through the weekend, it's not too bad... still non the less annoying. It's cool though cause I have a lot of projects I need to finish so the TRF415 can wait a little while...

!!! Props at life!!! Is refing soccer matches fun? I am forced to get money through math...
Yes, my mother hates it too. She thinks it's a big waste of time and money. And since time = money, and money = sqrt(all evil), my hobby = evil.

"Oh, it is your 2 yr old birthday, here's a TRF415.. but since you are too young to build, let daddy do it for you..." (joke)

My dad helped me get started a bit, (kind of), he bought some stuff of ebay while he was on a work trip (radio gear and esc, only about $50 worth) and I said I'd pay him back, but i think he never asked because he was pleased i was getting into a hobby other than sitting on my computer all day.

I tell you the UPS guy is playing games with me. He drove down my street a couple times, only to drop packages off for my neighbors. I didn't expect it to come today, but you still get a little excited... lol

The Worcester UPS guys (at least the one who visits my neighborhood) tend to call at 5:30 PM.

it has arrived, 10 minutes ago to be exact! I'm not going to start building today or tomorrow since I have a lot of stuff to do. It's a new term in school and the teachers love to give homework [

still there, hunter, still there, just waiting to be taken advantage of: http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...duct-id=58320B
hehe I'm almost as bad as LB with his "the TLT is only $70 shipped, buy it now!" stuff (joke) I really don't mind it when LB does that it just makes me spend too much money... lol
here's a couple pics of the contents of the box since you asked so nicely
: http://s146.photobucket.com/albums/r...reatewidgets#_
There's also some pics of my coolermaster stacker 810 computer case from a computer forum, so you can just ignore them or just stare at them drooling! lol
BTW hunter: I decided not to get the PTI tranny since I was talking to some of the crawler guys and they were telling me the R2 tranny from rc4wd.com is more suited for my project. It is all metal and has more adjustable gearing, but it costs $10 more than my TLT! $80, ouch!
The TRF415 came with the stock bulkhead/motor mount piece as well as the upgrade heatsink version. Also included were some dish wheels! I hadn't expected them so it's kind of cool that they are included
