My F103 was taking a beating running on asphalt. So I thought I would get a TA05 and race it, and save the F103GT for carpet.

I'm having a difficult time getting the electronics I want to use into this vehicle. I am trying to get an airtronics super micro receiver 92836 and a mamba max ESC into this car. Right now I have settled on putting the receiver on top of the servo. I would like to get a lower centery of gravity, but when I put my receiver behing the servo the antenna grommit touces the spur gear. I could very easily see some bad consequences if I run it behind the servo. Any idea on how to get the mamba max to fit? I could probably make a platform and put it behind the motor, but again a high center of gravity.

to be honest, RX's weigh hardly anything, so i doubt it will make a noticible difference.. cant you run it behind the motor?

Lee,

I really wanted to run the ESC behing the motor. Plus I'm not so sure about zip typing the esc to the servo.

Well .... I would up cutting the chassi at the rear in order to get the Mamba to fit. I'll post pictures later.

I ran my TA05 stock this weekend. I installed the Nemesis 540 13S and it was a great choice to race against other 27T motors. I did have the slowest car down the straight, but a diffrent pinion will fix that. Overall I was really happy with the performance of my car.

I started with the stock set up and the large spacer on front and rear shocks. I was also using the 2 hole piston and stock tamiya oil. For tires I was running the HPI X pattern.

The TA05 really hooked up well thru the turns and I consistently placed 2nd all day.

I found a really good curve profile for the Mamba Max and a solid setup if anyone wants to download it let me know.

I have a TL-01, but really wanting to get a TT-01 for playing around with...
I dont like the way the TL-01 is made, it's a nice car, but like bathtub chassis better.
That belt driven car looks alright, but I prefer the shaft driven touring cars...
I heard that the belts will wear out eventually..[]

Personally I wouldn't buy a TT-01. If you want a shaft Tamiya get the TB02

belts take ages to wear out, unless you off road a lot! but for me, belt drives are far more efficient.

This is how it comes out of the box, costs more than the normal TA05 but has plenty of upgrades

WOW! [sm=omg_smile.gif] That is beautiful!

I've been holding off getting the TA05R because I'm waiting for the EBBRO BTEC Maziora 350R with the TA05IFS chassis, but now I'm thinking of picking up both! Have you run it yet? By the looks of it, it should have no problem hanging with the TRF cars.
