can the evader
can the evader handle 7 cells and will a 7 cell straight pack fit in the battery holder. Or do you need a hump pack. THe reason i am asking is I want to get a bigger rc car. I wanted a stampede but it kindof expensive so I want to maybe get an evader and make it go fast.

RE: can the evader
the evader is fine in grass just use common sense if the car wont clear the grass then its not gonna run but thats the same with any rc car
i have a evader completly pimped with non duratrax parts and even before i hoped it up it would blaze thrue grass even tall stuff(with a god running start for the tall grass lol)
one thing if u do decide to get an evader id reccomend to upgrade the motor right away since the stock motor that is included in the kit is pretty weak id get a green machine motor they are good priced and pretty fast for a 27t motor

RE: can the evader
I have one, and yes it will plow through grass. Just replace the cheap stock motor with something decent, the rear tires(I don't like the taper pins, they wear too fast on hard pack), and have fun. By the way, if you are willing to waterproof it, it can also go through water, and I mean a lot of it. NOT recommended by anyone, but oh so much fun(can you say submarine car). As far as the 7 cell pack, I haven't tried one yet, but the side by side packs that I use should be able to be done up to 7 cells and fit if you trim the foam that's used to keep the pack from slamming around too much. Good luck.

RE: can the evader
I recently got a 4200 7 cell stick (a stick pack with a cell on an end) from Duratrax and it fits just fine. Although there might be a difference with side-by-side pack in length... but not much.

RE: can the evader
Some sxs will be wider, some can be longer. I've run many 7 cel packs and mostly the only mod I make is to remove the sharpness from the battery strap guide because it can cut the battery if it is removed from chassis.
