Default xxx-t gearing

alright i have a xxx-t that i recently got and thru my hitec esc in and bought a 13t double team orion motor for it. i was wondering what the best gearing would be for a short track with only one decent straight but has alot of tight turns and jumps outa the turns. let me know thanks

you probably want more acceleration if there is only one straight away.
i would say like a lower pinion than stock if you want more acceleration.
if you want more top end go like 2-3 teeth up on the pinion.
dont change the spur though because i hear that it can overstress your motor.

What size spur are you useing? 86?

Start low and work your way up till you like the speed/handleing. Maybe start with a 13-15 tooth pinion.
Smaller pinion = quicker acceleration
bigger pinion = higher topspeed+ slower accel.

Start with a 20 tooth pinion and adjust from there.

On my home short track I like the 86 spur gear (Red) with 17 pinion (XX-t sport 2 Tranny). This is with a stock motor p2k2 pro. The track is a very hard clay surface. about 80/30 feet. [link=http://www.mhorrc.com]see pics here[/link]

This is probably a little to much bottom end for a 13 double mod. So, with the red spur gear I would try 2-3 teeth greater on the pinion.

smaller pinion = more acceleration decreased top end
smaller spurr = more top end decreased acceleration
