i just got a rustler xl-5 and a vxl motor.

i was looking at this

but it is kinda pricy.
got any other suggestions.
i might just get the shock towers.

I'd only start worrying about it AFTER you manage to break the stock parts..........

no reason to waste money if you'll never break the stock parts

there is a good reason to get this chassie. it looks great, the weight and ext. length makes it more stable riding too.

there is alot there for the price, so i wouldn't call it pricey, but a great deal. on the other hand, if you haven't upgraded the xl5 parts like tranny and axles, i wouldn't spend my money on the chassie yet.

yeah, I wouldn't call it pricey, it only costs the same amount as the whole truck......

heck for the price of the chassis, you could almost buy a T4 kit and have a better vehicle

yes. thats the best thing to do. not only will it tell you what to upgrade, but it will also let you get to use the stock parts before replacing them.
www.swami-rc.com thats the wheelie bar i use. i am very satisfied.

Ya i'd go with sloppyg. You dont want to waste money by purchasing a full aloy kit for the rustler. I'd wait until your stock parts go to waste then purchase all aloy.[>:]

i personally don't think you even need alloy. you could just stay with the stock parts or some rpm. they are cheap, fairly durable, and work just fine.

I wasnt directly replying to you, just saying flm is quite cheap for getting high quality cnc'd products. I would stay stock until you wear everything out (happens in a brushless pede) then go all flm.

Aluminum is nice and all but it really isnt needed for lets say the chassis. The bulkhead, castors and arms I can understand. Anything else will just make it to heavy.
