Is the Exceed Sunfire a good buy for a hundred bucks for a newbie? Just to kill time in the yard....

A few people in here have the MT version (all the same parts except wheels and shocks) and the only problem I guess would be the $1.99 battery they ship with the cars, they last all of 3 minutes and no guts. I would suggest a better battery with balls if you want any performance. I also want to get a sunfire and the on road car and put my MM 5700 in them. but i don't have a credit card to make the order yet

I'm thinking of the MT version. Mostly for on road and light off road. I save the pede for heavier duty bashing.

Most RTR's don't even come with batteries..........so that's just an added bonus. Go for EP4600's or the New IB4200's. You'll want a new charger too. A 300mAh charger won't cut it, especially with 4600mAh.

[link=http://dynamiterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=DYN1862]Here[/link] are a pair of EP4600's
[link=http://maxamps.com/proddetail.php?prod=EP-4600-6Cell-Flat&cat=13]These[/link] cost more but will give better performance and runtime.
You will want 2 battereis minimum.
Do you want a dual battery charger that will charger 2 batteries at once?

Thanks Pede. The single charger and the ep 4600 should suffice! What kind of time should I expect out of this battery?
How is the Exceed's durability? I can't seem to find many user reviews...

RE: Any Opinions on Electric Rc Exceed Sunfire?
I just bought the dynamite for my brother then ordered another one for myself. I guess the quality was good enough from just looking at it that I ordered a 2nd. I also ordered 2-10000 lipos, eos6060i charger, novak spektrum gtb, ss 10.5 brushless, and a spekrum dx2 radio. So I have about a $1000 riding on that I think it is a good enough truck. I don't think it's very tight, but it is the same as their nitro, so it should hold up!
Grab one up and put a vxl system in it with a lipo pack skip the old school batteries!
Where else can you get an 1/10th electric 4wd truck?

I suppose it could be a half decent buggy if you don't drive it that hard or too often. If you want something that will last a while, and has good parts support, then I suggest you stay away from this truck. In fact, the lack of any part support for this car is a very good reason alone not to get it. You break a part and you're done driving for good. I took a look, and the site that sells it has practically no replacement parts for the junk they sell.
If you're looking for a good 4WD buggy, save up a little more and get a Tamiya Dark Impact. Tamiya has a bunch of other good buggies too, that are cheaper than the DI. If you're going to get a better battery and charger, you might as well have a better car to put it in too.

You can use redcat racing parts. www.clermontmotorsports.com can get you almost whatever parts you need.
