Help Buggy Purchase
Hi,
I live in Perth Australia.
Had a grasshopper as a kid
My 11 year old son has a Stadium Raider Truck
We want to get 2 buggy's for Christmas for general messing around and racing each other.
Looking at either Kyosho Lazer ZX-5, Taxxas Bandit (basic model) or Tamiya desert gator.
Needs to be at least as fast as the Stadium Raider and strong for jumping and messing around.
Open to other other suggestions and keen to hear from anyone with the above cars.
Many thanks in advance
Paul

RE: Help Buggy Purchase
How about a Tamiya Rising Storm or Dark Impact? Sounds like you are basing, so why not consider 4WD? Those, including the Desert Gator, have a pretty good hop up potential, so it depends if you want 2WD or 4WD.
BTW, the Dark Impact is best if you ever plan to "race", but it only accepts 6 cell stick packs; the others will do SxS.
They will all be the same speed as the Stadium Raider, if you have the stock silvercan in it. Why not consider installing a hotter motor in it and/or your future models?

RE: Help Buggy Purchase
Spent most of the day searching the web for info. Decided on the Bandit as we could get a good deal for 2, repairs and upgrades should be easier and cheaper.
Any advice on the Bandit or general info would be great
Cheers

If you want them to be alot more stable, then you can put rustler rear arms on the front and rear. (you will need new driveshafts)

RE: Help Buggy Purchase
Thanks will look into those parts.
I am confused what battery to buy. I was looking at getting a few Venom 1800nicd 7.2 (have them charged and just swap them), Instead of buying 1 or 2 expensive battery. Is this the best way??
Cheers

RE: Help Buggy Purchase
Newer Nimh not only provide longer run times but more power over those cheap 1800's the difference is HUGE. I can get SXS packs in my DF03 just fine.
