Default 9.6v

the xl5 manuel says it can handle 9.6v. i have one of the cheapo walmart ones from a cheapo rc, can i use this? has anyone run 9.6v on a xl5? asuming its geared right, can my 15t speed gems trinity motor handle 9.6v?

I don't know about the last one, but I HAVE run my Xl-5 Pede on a 9.6V transmitter NiCd pack, rated 1200 mAh. No punch whatsoever. The cheapo Walmart 9.6V packs are usually identical to the Tx NiCd packs and are made of 8 AA NiCds.

I ran a cheap-o 9.6 volt in an XL1. It was fine. It gave the power of a very very poor 6 cell.

so, it wont hurt anything to try it. i dont have the batt yet, its coming in the mail with a snowmobile i got. i hope to hop up the snowmobile. just wondered if the batt could make my pede pull wheelies.

I doubt it. They perform very poorly.
