Default Rustler VXL or Losi Speed-T?

Which one do you think is better?

Rustler pro:

Available NOW
A lot of parts available
Cheaper
8000 mah Lipos will fit (with adapter)
Planetary Diff (for me a pro, because i dont need to adjust)

Speed-T pro:

DSM Technology (Transmitter uses only 4 AAs)

Which one do you think is more durable? This is the most important thing for me. I don't care about little speed differences

Only time will tell how durable the Losi truck is, the rustler as we all know is rather durable. I would hold on to your money for now, and see what the Speed-T is like before buying. I have no doubt knowing Losi that it will be a solid and good truck, but we cant yet tell whether it would be best for you.

No one knows yet how durable it is, so you can test it out and get back to us.

I haven't drove it yet and I don't plan on it (don't have money to just purchase a new model for "fun" hehe, I wish I did); with that being said, I will STILL like to claim (with the right to have my own opinion and exercising my freedom of speech):

This won't be very durable, at all. Take a look at the suspension arms; like 2 stiff wires ready to bend and break on it's first 25-30mph crash. The chassis though, who knows.

Looks to me the Rustler VXL would be much better "do everything" truck...bash, a bit a racing and, of course, high speed runs. Looks like the Speed-T is a low slung street only machine. Looks pretty darn cool, though! I'll still take my Rusty.

Nothing above mentioned how not durable it will be I see afterwards but that was after my point. Who knows the plastic they use can be much stronger than anything else on the market today. The fact is no one will know its durability until they own it. Plus the radio is much better than the stock stuff Traxxas comes with.

Geez this is like the Traxxas fanboy forums or something [&:]

Looks like we will be reviewing one for RCU, I plan on doing real time telemetry for motor rpm, amps, volts, and top speed with 7,8, and 11 volt lipos. Should be fun

Traxxas is just known for good bashers and durability like the OP asked "Which one do you think is more durable? This is the most important thing for me." so your bound to get traxxas recomendations.

I would stick with traxxas, If the last few trucks that losi has released havent told ya anything, they arent very good. LST with all the diff problems, micro twith all the lipo and tranny problems. On top of it all, it looks just like the xxxt chassis which i used to race and had nonstop diff problems, thus i switched to associated and couldnt be happier. Except for my second love traxxas.

Then clearly you want the rustler. The XXX-T isn't even in the same ballpark when it comes to durability, it sacrifices all it's durability for superior handling.

we all know that the rustler is probably the most durable ST. but its a tank... LOSI on the other hand does not make garbage in the durability dept. there cars a pretty durable also, not like a rusty but there durable. for me the choice is simple the fastest and best handling car and thats the speed T.

The OP clearly stated his preferences for durability alone and doesn't care about handling. There's nothing to debate here.

DSM Technology (Transmitter uses only 4 AAs)

Spektrum's new DX3R uses 4 AA's this one looks like it takes 8. Too bad..now that Losi is making me have to buy 4 more batteries, I'm def buing a Rustler VXL!!! hahaha Just kidding

Who knows about durablitiy yet, but considering Traxxas Vs Losi's Basher Durability in the past, I'd put my money on Traxxas.

If your a basher, the Rustler.

If you want handling and want to race, Speed-T.

Got to agree with dreamin. Losi is a race truck and the rusty is a basher. Rustys are heavy but they're about the strongest 1/10 scale trucks on the market. Losi's are lighter and generally not very strong because they are meant to race. That being said, if the speed-t has the same power as a VXL rusty i don't know how you would ever race it. My VXL bandit is so over powered it's not even funny but that's ok because it's a basher. I currently own a couple of losi's, and have owned about 10 total over the years and yes they are fast and handle great but they have never been strong. When I go out to the open fields I run my Losi's and assoc but if there's anything around I could hit i run my traxxas stuff. If you're bashing go with traxxas.
