Eeeeeewwwww. Red, that sucks. You have an ATV, though, so the fun just changes there. Do you have a snowmobile? I am thinking of starting a winter crawling thread (maybe one exists).

Good idea on using the show for ideas. I am hoping to snag a show-deal or two when I am there. I will bring my storm along - maybe we can bomb around in one of the parking lots downtown.
I saw your ad in the local kijiji.

I just checked and it doesn't look like castle makes one. Novak makes several different sizes I wonder if its just a matter of adapting one of theirs since their fans are just screwed into the heat sink fins without threads.

Who makes a good fan for the MM?
Who makes a good fan for the MM?
Yeah racing makes good fans. They have an adapter too(30mm fan to 25)to be able to use 30mm fans too.
OR:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Hobbywing-0-12A-...item255a7e96d0
(ebay search:esc fan - and use the sort by price option)
Both are good, but if you have a serious problem prefer yeah racing.
BTW:On a 60A ezrun esc I was using two 25mm fans(one ezrun and one LRP).It was good too.

Red I would go for that I think you will be really pleased by the castle creations stuff. I was blown away by how much more powerful the stock flux setup seemed than the novak setup.

Or just Novak fans.....as nitro-rob said....
The only sure is that you will make threads by screwing the fan to your heatsink. There isn't any other way.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Hey guys!
I ordered anaconda tires and 12mm flat hex hub, a pair os 2s 4500mah lipos, a set of motor pinions and a IR temperature gauge.
But not sure about the Traxxas wheels model!
Should I buy the Jato or hustler set? They are different! Not sure how but they are.
There are 3 models of Traxxas all star wheels (black chrome in my option).
Even thinking if the right setup maybe Jato rear wheels on all four Storm axels...
Really confused!

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Hey guys,
Last year I picked up an E-Storm Flux for x-mas. Runs fantastic on the Trinity 3600 nimh I got with it. But, I'm looking to go lipo with it. I'm new to the whole electric bit...been doing nitro for 7 years since dad bought an original AE RC10GT, but this is my first electric. From doing some research, I'm all confused. Between amp draw, and voltage and 3s and 2s lipos...I understand the lipo rating system, but I don't know how to match a good C rating with the FLUX system. What's a good lipo to go with? The "c" rating?? (I use deans connectors). I don't understand this motor - ESC - battery matchup thing at all. Like, the amp draw on the esc can't exceed what the battery can put out, but you can't over-amp your motor at the same time? I just don't get it. Can someone dumb it down, please? lol
Also, I'm looking to up the speed without sacrificing the torque. I generally run on short grass. (or dead grass, depending on the time of year, hehe) So would I be better off just buying a MMp and jumping to 3s + stock 5700 with it or should I go to a 6900kv Castle with an MMp and hit a 3s? Or would a 6900 + 3s just be overkill? I wanna go fast, but not lose my torque cuz like I said, I'm in the grass.
Any help is much appreciated.

You won't be able to go much over 5000 KV with 3s. Anything higher will overheat. Lower KV motors will have more torque, run at lower RPM, be slower and run cooler. They can make up for the lower speed by running at higher voltages which increases the RPM (and heat as well). I use a MMax pro and like it a lot and had a havoc 3s and it was good too although it doesn't look like its made anymore and was replaced by the havoc pro.
You need good batteries with high C-ratings. The higher the C the better. 25 and over is recommended by most manufacturers. If your battery can't supply whats needed by the ESC you will get rippling which makes heat and blows the capacitors at the front of the ESC.
Read back a few pages at the motor and ESC combination discussion
