RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I've got a set coming but will burn all the 2.2's first before putting them on.
I noticed my turning went away the past few weeks but noticed the front tire are worn down almost 3/4 so I put the stock rears on the front for now for the heck of it.

I've takin a liking to the STRC stuff. It all looks great, and a buncha the blitz guys that run in the SC open class here have some of there stuff too. One guy has all the parts they offer on his basher.

yes you should RED, that would be awesome!!!
yep I do like the STRC stuff but, I am kind of anti-aluminum only a few pieces on my whole truck. I love carbon fiber though....haha This reminds me I should do an updated build list, just because I can't seem to ever leave my Storm alone. haha

My storm is really the only truck I mess with regularly. Everything else is good for every once in a while run or something like that. I get bored too easy, that's my problem. >.< But my storm I can't seem to ever wanna put away or leave alone.

Peloche-
It looks like you stripped your spur gear. It will need replacement.
It could be from a couple things:
1-they wear out after alot of use, they are just plastic
2. Your gear mesh (the space between the pinon and the spur) could be too tight. If you have the manual it will show how to set it in there. If you don't have a copy of the manual, you can download the PDF from hpi's website. Basically you put a piece of paper in between the two gears.
3. You slipper clutch could be too tight. The slipper clutch is the spring with the little nut on the end that sits on the spur gear. you might need to loosen it up a bit, but It will have to come off anyways when you replace the spur gear. It also shows how to adjust it in the manual, but it may change based on how you drive.
Hope this helped, good luck.

Hi Fractured,
Thanks for your information.
All settings are from origin, i used it about 3 hours max.
There isn't any metal hop up for the spur gear ?
I placed an order one hour ago for one piece thinking that it was the last one in plastic that i'll install , i should have order 3 or 4
Thanks again,

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
You want it to be plastic so nothing in the transmission gets damaged. Something has to be the weak point, and Its best that it is something cheap and easy to replace.
Ihave about 5 extra sitting in my parts box
BTW, you can find the info on page 22 and 23 of the manual.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
if it happed 3 hours out of the box your motor screws could've been loose and shifted during normal use, so when you replace your spur really crank down on those bad boys i've put star washers between my screws and motor plate to grip into the plate and they work very well...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Just checked my spur gear, it looks like new and has likely done 20-25hrs of hard running on 3s lipo. I would say it looks like the adjustment was incorrect. Replace and setup and I think it will do a lot more than 3hrs next time.
Gave a HPI savage xs flux on 3s a scare today.

Hi rclugnut10,
Thanks, I've checked all screws they are very tight.
When i said 3 hours it was approximately but in fact it ran three times for a pack each, so it's more close to 1 hour than 3 all together.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
So to all the people running the lightweight slipper gear setup from the blitz. How did you change your gearing? And are any of you running the 2.8 wheels? Just curious what gearing I would need to run? This is one of the few "upgrades" I haven't done so I am considering it.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Here is a video of today, sorry for the quality, it has been recorded with my iPhone in one hand and Firestorm remote in the other one .
During the video it was running 3S, just after the battery stopped to work, i installed a 2S since my other 3S doesn't fit, within the first 2 mn on 2S the car made a bad noise and didn't run, so i went back home.
So was it too hard ?

Hi DarksideVR,
Thanks for your comments.
Could it be 2S battery that made it to heat ? because it's really melted

Nice video. I didn't see anything to hard on it in the video.

Hi redfisher1974,
Yes it could be, but it came out like this from the factory ...
I checked ESC and motor T° several times with the finger and it wasn't hot since i was able to leave the finger for 30s or more.
I did appreciate a lot this Firestorm today it's a nice machine very fast (appreciate when it was working...).

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I think the slipper clutch is to tight, look at the position of pinion gear on the drive from the motor. Mine is flush. I would set (check) it up as the manual says also
