RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Its probably as close as you can get. Definitely over the gentlemens line for sure. Last year they were selling brushless systems there for ridiculous money, too.
I am putting the 4600 4-pole motor in mine when I get time this week. I plan on taking my blitz out to an indoor fall this fall and winter a few times and will run the SCT motor in it (with the vapor pro esc from the blitz)

Hi wanna_be_racer,
Thanks for your info, you're right, DarksideVR listed it there http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_72...85/key_/tm.htm
It's amazing that the manufacturer limits the use of his product...

Correct. The STRC camberlink can be used, even though it says it can't on their website.
Rob, that is pretty low. Couldn't that be interpreted as false advertising?
And update on my busted motor, Castle doesn't make the cm36 repair kits anymore. And I can't seem to find one anywhere online. Just the ones for the 1406, 1410, and the 1408 motors. So, like I said earlier, I'll just wait till next week and order the 3800 SCT combo.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Thanks DarksideVR,
I had the rear part of Upper brace set 85207 remaining from my front kiss with a pole...
So i changed the broken one and went back for testing, everything was perfect, very fast, and suddenly the car was not moving, the motor was running but on ground no move at all, when lifting the car, wheels were turning.
I went back home and tighten clutch a bit more, same problem, motor is running, spur gear is turning but no strengh, i've dismounted, nothing is broken, i've open the gear box everything seems perfect, but how to check the differential gear ?In the gear box but gears are greasy but no grease is visible, normal ?
Thanks for your help

To test the spur gear, hold the spur gear and turn one wheel and see if the other turns in the opposite direction smoothly. Also, the spur can be turning but the slipper slipping. The grease in the differential is minimal, I recommend putting more in.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
could've loosened the pinion just enough... could've also stripped out the drive cups in the internal gears like rounded out the flat spot, but i feel like they would've just cracked the gears... thoughts... i would start locking your tranny from your pinion down your wheel hexes... another thought, could've sheered/dropped wheel pins, and it's being driven by the grub screw that holds the hex in place...

Thanks Rob and rclugnut10 for your help,
Here are some pics,
1 - Motor axle was turning,
2 - Pignon was turning,
3 - Spur was turning
4 - Clutch axle was turning
Wheels off ground were turning
Wheels on ground were not turning but when on ground 1+2+3+4 were turning
Cups are like new
Dog bones are like new
... everything is like new even problem
Holding the gear box turning one cup make the other one to turn opposite

Put the truck on the ground and old the spur and push it forward, does the slipper slip? Put more grease in if you can, the grease looks okay.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
So:
I removed motor and gear box
I opened gear box
I opened differential gear
I closed differential gear
I reinstalled differential gear within the gear box
I reinstalled gear box
I reinstalled motor
I reinstalled clutch
Nothing changed
Shame on me the rear left wheel was loose.
I tightened it and it seems to work, to be confirmed tomorrow.
I'm very sorry to have wasted Rob and rclugnut10 time.

Not a problem. I I don't see how a loose wheel would do that, though, unless it was loose enough to have the hex out of the wheel.
My dirt hawg/desperado 2.8 inch wheel combos came in today. I won't run them right away, putting in the 4600 first.

Thanks the lug
Rob the wheel was loose, hex was still within the wheel but the pin was outside the hex, so shaft was turning free, differential was doing its job, all strengh was on the free shaft .
To show you i've unscrewed the wheel as it was and I just discovered something, there is a screw on the hex to tighten the hex on the axle, i didn't know and this screww was totally loose, i have to check other wheels:
Hex far from the pin:
Hex screw:
Edit: I've checked the other wheels and hex screws are tight

Had a similiar instance of jumping to the most extremem conclusion before. Thought my clutch was busted on my nitro Ultra MBX, gave it gas and no go. Turns out, after putting a new diff in, I completely forgot the rear dogbones. >.<

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Just so everyone knows, the STRC "aluminum" turnbuckles are JUNK. I already broke one on my second pack. I didn't even hit anything, It was a roll from turning at full speed. Iam very deisapointed, it sheared off right in the middle. Oh well, lesson learned. Know Iget to justify the 45.00 for the hpi titanium ones. Unless there are any other suggestions......?

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
The lunsford ones are only like $5 more I believe for a full set. Also work great.
EDIT: Scratch that. The Lunsford set for the Blitz, which I assume will work on the EFS, are only $32 + shipping from Tower.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Is it the set for the blitz? Because Ilooked on their site and they only have 3mm x 2 3/8" which is about 60mm (if my math is correct)

I'm not a moron, those posts about the lunsfords turnbuckles came while I was writing my post.
I bought the blitz set and installed them with no problems.
