rear hubs fit perfect, however the front knuckle arms required me to go with the deep dishes, the ball cups rub the inside of the wheels. didnt really wanna dremel the new shiny aluminum so i just want the the deep offsets and they clear no prob now. the alum bulkhead cleaned up alot of the a-arm slop too

Robertbell6 how u likin the bumpers?? I was thinkin of ordering a set.......using at least the rear one cause i don't like the idea of the motor being my bumper at the moment plus i have a nifty heat sink sitting around waiting to be used.

As far as MT CVD's....they wont work. I read that length wise they are too short. I installed my EFS CVD's yesterday...awesome. Removed alot of the side to side slop.

i take it you have a supercharged 347?

Yes I do. And it seems you spend alot more then you plan. Ya need bigger pump, injectors, throttle body, mass air etc etc. I have a wideband unit so I can watch the AFR, the list is endless really. And I spent more then planned building the 347 too. Costs alot of $$ to go fast...

I havent run my latest combo at the dragway yet...should be interesting ! You ever go ? What cha got done to yours ?

I like it, but I havent used alot of others to compare it to. Seems to have good torque so you can gear it up. Havent tried a 3s lipo in it yet, but I want to. I think that'd be sick.

i have basically a stock 90 lx auto.it needed so much work just to get roadworthy.it was a rust bucket.put in new floors, carpet ,fenders, recovered seats.all new dynomax exhaust.new suspension.the list is endless.it has over 200,000 on it so the motor is probably gonna have to be pulled and rebuilt.not sure what plans are.would like to keep it 302 or maybe go 306 with a turbo and keep the auto.not sure yet.would also like to paint engine bay and put a new rack/pinion in.

So I got alittle innovative this weekend. I was in the garage smoking and thought to myself...I wonder if I can make the hubcarriers off my SB Pro 4wd buggy work on the Firestorm. About two hours later...They are on. The hub carriers themselves were easy. What was interesting was making the CVD's work. The SB has completly different CV's(not axle portion. Where CV portion of the axle mounts...Well the EFS was too big to fit. So after some careful honing with the Dremel...she came out perfect. No binding or anything. Later that night, "RobertBell" came by and I ended up breaking my front spindle. 20 mins later, I managed to make the beatiful and beefy fronts from the SB work. This in turn gave me a wider stance in the front(plus for the handling dept). Ill get some pics tonight and post them up.

it seems like this is what you have to do because companies such as PROLINE,RPM,ETC have chose to ignore making hopups for this truck.

Maybe it's just an HPI thing......other than the Savage, what other HPI models have many hop-ups available from other companies? Maybe other companies are striking deals with companies like Pro-Line to make hop-up parts for their vehicles.....and maybe HPI just isn't doing much of this...

HELP! Ok im running out of ideas and now im a bit frusterated, i first had the s/w 5700 combo which was decent but after a 15-20 min run on a 7 cell was topping 200 degrees, then i went the the losi xcelerin combo and have accel issues, after spending time on the phone with them they said i cant use a 7500kv in a 2 wheel drive truck. my lhs who suggested the 7500 offered to take it back so im not at the drawing board, i looked at the havok, dynamite, and mamba max stuff, i want something with a fair amount of punch and top end that is goign to be ROAR approved for some club level racing, the novak site says the havoc 10.5 system is equivilent to a 17t brushed !![&o] so i dont know if i would exactly be happy.... please anyone with some ideas please share...i definately want a sesnored system Thanks!

I love my havoc 8.5 runs like a charm....low temps and no cogging whatsoever.now its only 5000kv and can run only 2s so its not as fast as the sidewinders but it runs well. That being said the novak 10.5 motor looks nice and sure it will be slower but you will have lots of power for the track....Hey what if you buy the novak 10.5 motor then pick up the new Havoc 3s esc...the 10.5 on 3s would be good for bashing..then run 2s for the track...
