RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
Sway bars will help if they are dialed in right. The reason being is the Slash likes to "body roll" a lot, and sway bars help add some lateral stiffness. This will help deter body roll but will ad a bit more slip and slide to the driving, this is much easier to correct. Traction roll, on the other hand, is something the 2wd Slash WISHES it could do, as it is created by too much lateral traction resulting in a drag coefficient that the truck cannot escape so rather than break free and slide it grabs and rolls.
As for the 4X4, the ProLines are IMHO the best but a more cost effective alternative would be the way I went: Venom anodized aluminum shock caps, RPM two stage pistons, and TRX titanium nitrate coated shafts. Works like a charm
Edit: I forgot to add, I replaced my rear springs with the longer Emaxx white progressives, it helped a lot with its stance

ya da reer stays planted. i cant swing da bak out as hard as i try so mechanical grip is pretty good rite now. i jus sink a front corner & send it barell rolling along its merry way. stock progressv springs[&o]
35wt front & 40wt reer. i movd.da shok bottms furthr out. 2maro ill play around wit prelode spacers. mayb evn move da bottoms evn further out 2maro. mite go 40wt all around or 45-50wt up front if i dont sway bar it up. wen it sinks a corner i heer tire 2 body rub wich probably acts lyk a handbrake on dat sunken tire.

Sorry bud I dissagree respectively, every thing I've been reading says that the roll bars are going to make the traction roll worse because it can't aussorbe the sudden weight shift. And it limits the inderpendant suspension travel to much.
If the front Is diving into corners, look at limiting the suspension out travel with one of the blue bushes like on the rear shocks but put in the inside of the shock just under the piston in the oil. But one of the best options it use the the oil u are all ready running in the front but try the single hole piston, then at high speed corners it should pack up more. Have u got the rear lower than the front? And are u running rear weights? Oh and get your self some rustler front white springs, it will get rid of the soft spot from the progressive springs.
The big bore shocks are the best by far, the stock one are not very smothe, but if u are going to stick with the stock body's get the upgraded shafts, and put some rubber grease on the bottom seal, u will never get the seal to slide like a big bore set but it is a improvement, just remember before u fill the shocks with oil adjust the bottom seal so they both have a about the same resistance
Losi make a great tool for this.

I agree with phmaximus I noticed better turning ability by switching my pistons to single hole over the defult factory 2 hole.

How's just bashing at home, I fitted some old but in new condition monster truck wheels to the back end, lol it's a hoot now, it's pulling wheelies on grass on 7.4v but the esc is running hotter. Massive difference in rear traction, so much it's very easy to understeer. And is very hard to overstate.
Looks stupid but I'm still keeping the stockies for on road.
No kiddin, just for ships and giggles, try some MT wheels.

Well I lost one of my steering kuckle to hub carrier pin, so I've drilled them out and fitted the larger nitro rustler pins. With any luck they won't bend as easily.

Well I've made my slash 10 times more reliable....
I removed the on off switch for the BEC.
Before, each time I crashed the switch would move a tiny bit and turn off my BEC.
Yay no more switches to worry about (ESC switch removed ages ago due to it failing)
On a side note ive made a scope for the ESC fan, looks cool IMO

you can just unscrew the box off the chassis and mount it wherever you want it.

About receiver box, I agree with terminator.
I have the ThunderTech Racing Outlaw Pro Chassis.... Love it! Onroad and offroad (dirt, clay, prepped surface), no more rollovers.... Bashing in a grassy park is still a little touchy making turns and bicycling sometimes or rolling. But, it's way better than stock. This thing jumps real nice and tracks straight. The Outlaw Pro is a fiberglass chassis.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
I just picked up a pre-roller from a friend. He bought it, ran it like three times then parted out the electronics to fund his stampede. So being I'm car less he gave it to me. This thing is basically brand new. Going w/ stock raptor tires and wheels. Ford Raptor body (proline). Castle creations sv2 esc 3800kv combo. Stock t.4 link radio system and stock servo. Can't wait, this will be my 23rd rc car, but my first sct. Now I have to talk the wife into letting me blow $250 on it lol

A lot of people are happy with the STRC kit. You an also make your own version. Below is a link to my Youtube channel where you can find a 4 part tutorial on building your own inexpensive LCG:

hay thats cool... funny thing I did the exact same thing to my rustler to fit a 69 charger body, only mine is slightly shorter than a slash
This is what i mean about the wheel base
27mm extended rustler, slash & revo

what about a ez run 35a como??? they are so cheap & preform great ($60-&80ish), im running 5 cars off them all 1/10, most of them ive wired the Fan into the BEC, that way can swap from 2s to 3s with out hassle, all are fully programable
my slash has a 3900kv motor heavy roll cadge but can still pull wheelies on 3s on stock tyres (concreate) and on 2s 5500mah it can pull wheelies with those Monster truck wheels (above pics) on grass... its not the fastest r/c out there but ive found this setup great for bashing but a bit overkill for a dirt track.... even with the punch set to the lowest there is still heaps to torque and very easy to spin out, u have to baby the throttle. Trust me 35a(190a Burst) is heaps of power for a 2wd truck
