Got my rustler VXL converted yesterday.
I still need the rear A-arms to keep the tires inside the body.
I'm gonna make a custom rear bumper out of 3/16 brake line.

This thing is so much fun!!

How did you get your 8 shooters on the front? I haven't found a way without grinding down the caster blocks and using spacers to space the rear carriers and even then its very tight.

not sure what you're asking?? these are the axial 8 hole beadlock wheels
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTUX2&P=7

They fit right on and space the fronts out perfect (tire barely misses the fender at full stuff)
the rustler has slightly extended hexes in the front, I think

hopefully, with the slash rear A-arms the rears will fit under the fenders too

Thanks, the paint leaked under the mask in a couple spots, but it's definitely not noticable while driving around.

x2 There awsome little trucks and with winter comming and all the snow its even more fun cuz its 100% waterproof. Get some sandpaddel tires if you do bash in the snow, makes its 10x more fun!
yeah i want a truck that i can drive around by my house then pick it and bring it to the track but i cant do that with the rustler

I beleve there about about the same size and if you are running in the stock class there isnt any problems running around your house then the track.

1st off taking in caps is like yelling. As for your question suspension is all up to you and how you drive.

Anything is possibal i guess. There all kinds of alum parts, and lots of DIY stuff. Its just like any other RC out there.

At my track, the "best" setup was stock shock mounting positions, stock pinion, 35 wt shock oil, 3mm preload spacers(2nd thinnest) up front, and 8mm spacers(thickest) out back. This is for a short, bumpy track with iffy traction.

$10.00 second class
3 heats and main
trophies for first three places in each heat

During our weekly wednesday night program we have been having 2 heats of slashes and we run race programs wed, sat, and sundays. This Slash only trophy race is on a friday night with the regular race programs the rest of the weekend. We hope to meet some new faces on a fun night of racing !

How do you make the traxxas on the tires show up? do you just paint them with white paint? or would white-out work?

Take your time with white out should work...might not last or get a paint marker from LHS or craft store.

The "DeWALT" truck!

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck

Broke mine last friday.
landed from about 3 ft up onto the left rear tire and broke the chassis where it mounts to the gearbox and broke the rear skid. The body mounts and motor wires were the only thing holding the back end on.

I've seen these things take way more punishment than that on youtube so I'm a little dissapointed. any ideas? I have a new chassis and skid on the way and I think I'll epoxy the joints this time for a little more strength. I'd rather break an A-arm than a chassis.

I used a q-tip and white hobby paint, make sure you dont overload the q-tip. if you make a mistake just use the blunt edge of a broken tooth pick to fix the edges of the letters so the look crisp.
