100 mph in 6 seconds, how many seconds till your out of radio range? Just curious?

Me and a buddy worked it our a few weeks ago, that said we could be way off be we guessed it would cover about 45 meters per second at 100mph or 160kmh... I'm guessing it would be out of sight in about 4-5 seconds assuming you were standing in the middle of about 400-500 meters of nice flat bitumen.

update on that. early this morning shops said they would be shipping today. but now it seems to be on hold again.

in the UK a release date means the day you can have it in your hands. but i do remember when company's were saying items have been shipped to shops. but even months later still nothing.

I wasn't aware release ment something else over there, as far as I'm considered released means the day it can be purchased which was yesterday. Hundreds of cars are in shipment over here, 100s will be at most hobby shops tomorrow and the rest are being sent directly to people's houses, on the traxxas forum there is already a customer with his. So it's officially released stateside.

someone has held the car off the ground and hit full throttle. and the speed sensor says 130mph. so anyone know what top speed would be while running on a really flat road. as drag would cut the speed down.

Not sure, i did alot of R&D to some basic questions and i heard a couple things i wasn't pleased with, my biggest worry at this point is the tires, i heard from a relayable source which will remain nameless that the tires aren't going to hold up much, which wouldn't be a big issue for me if it wasn't the fact the wheel diameter is larger than standard buggy wheels, the GRPS i run on my 100+ buggys can last me up to a year running every weekend, if the tires end up being a weak point on this car i'll be passing on it because lord knows what traxxas will sell them for.


I didn't pre-order and i really want this car badly BUT i don't wanna drop the money until i see this thing in action in person. Im sure tomorrow at the hang out spot someone will have one and once i see it in person ill make up my mind. The shop next to my house has a few coming in monday, if i like what i see in person then im all in monday.

BTW a friend of mine who works at a shop sent me this picture of a customer walking in with the car. Since there is no actual pictures of this thing on RCU i figure id post it. AGAIN THIS IS NOT MY CAR.

The Hell? Are those plastic shock bodies on a $1000 car?

I don't think so, I think there alloy shock bodies the same as the e-Revo the caps are prolly plastic along with the adjustment screw. Check out a couple e-Revo shock they look exactly like these I think there called gtr shocks!?!

It is one fine car, we will see how it will do, the one thing I'm bitter about is you need an Iphone in order to unlock it's full potential...well what happened to the rest of us that have an Android instead, like my self, am I suppose to go buy and Iphone, not well though in my opinion.

There are some of you that think the price at $1100 is too expensive, I don't think so, look at what your getting:

State of the art radio with Telemetry no less that $300
Mamba Monster Extreme - $380
Batteries at least $100

Add the 3 items and you get and you get $780, that leaves $320 for the car as a roller, with $320 can't even get a TC6.1

Not expensive at all.
