the tt-01s are great fan cars to mess around with since they're so cheap to get and have a lot selection of upgrades.... there are a lot of tt-01 versions. tamiya has the rx-7 kit with the led system included. The hpi bodies fit pretty nice on the tt-01. I've seen people wit the ae86s, skylines, 350z, Lamborghinis , all sorts of bodies. check out the drifting forum here and if you want some ideas on how they look like.

ORIGINAL: Paulyd

me and 2 of my friends might buy some tt-01's for the fun of it. where can you buy bodies. i want a tuner body, like a Skyline, S2000, and 1 of my firends does too, and my other one wants either a BMW, or a Lambo. i'm gunna go to my lhs sometime and see how much tt-01's are there, cuz i dont really remember. all i know is that the parts arent worth buying there, cuz there quite expensive, but cars are cheap.

thats a good radio for the price.. FM, plenty of good functions. they're pretty cheap on ebay

The kit is extremely easy to build. Tamiya kits are easy to understand and they're instructions tell you everything. I built my friends TT-01 from memory from start to driving in less than 3 hours.

building a kit isnt that hard, is it?

hpi makes this m5 body but its for the wider 200mm kits so you will need some off set tires to fill the wheel wells.

what do you mean? You just cover parts up with masking tape and spray.

oh. the paint ones are for their other types of models. planes and things like that. most of the RC ones are in spraycans. much easier to use. you can use the paint if you have airbrush to use it in.

it will work fine. the tt-01 uses standard servos. and the radio i suggest again that you should go on ebay for one if you really want a xs3. much much cheaper. or go with symbios suggestion and get a skeptrum and don't deal with crystals, etc.

theres only a few, and some of them are graphite and not actual weaved carbon fiber. Only ones i know of are the braces on rcmart. The other parts i've seen are custom fab parts.

I think the plastic parts are just fine.
1-cheaper
2-lighter
3-tamiya plastic is pretty strong stuff
4-most of them aren't made by tamiya so i can't use them in the races, if you just bash then this isn't important...
